Store mode on hyperion duo ii question

Hey guys i got a hyperion 610 duo charger recently and im having trouble with the store function. What i want it to do is be able to either charge or discharge the lipos to 60% capacity. what its doing is it will just fully charge the pack. From what i read its suppose to be able to discharge or charge to a safe storing capacity but im just having trouble making it work. any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

ive done all that and followed thru with the instructions. ive tried sync storing two packs and individuals, but for some reason it will just charge, it will not discharge. im wondering if i need a firmware revision.

Here is the sequence:

1. Turn on and select batt profile (0-9)
2. Press and hold Enter
3. Charge Start & Solo Mode appear
4. Press Down once for Store, twice for Discharge (Discharge is redundant because Store Mode will automatically charge or discharge to achieve 60%)
5. Press enter again to select solo or sync mode
6. Confirm cell count to start

that is how i have been setting it up. i have no troubles getting to the store mode but it will just charge as tho i selected regular charging mode. i appreciate the help and walk through but i must be something else im missing here.

Well then the only other thing you can do is set your TCS for 60%. Only problem with that is you'll have to remember to put it back to 100% when you want a full charge.

Might be time to consider an exchange, I really doubt it's a firmware issue.

even with the tcs set at 60% it will not discharge a pack to store mode. i need to do it with the discharge function and just set the discharge rate of each cell at 3.7. if i set it on 60% and have it as continue action it will carry on to charge to 100% anyways, so thats not a big deal im just baffled. should have stuck with the turnigy 8150 i guess:whistle:

bdebde 11.29.2009 05:20 PM

Yes, I would certainly update it then, that link I posted shows store mode added (or fixed) in version 1.5.

alright well ill order the cable and ill update you in two to three weeks. lol damn shipping to Canada.:surprised:

Ahh then it is a FW issue. Sucks Hyperion didn't just use a USB, gotta have the stupid cable... otherwise I have zero complaints with their stuff.

ok guys an update. i went to try to do the update tonight and ran into troubles.

I downloaded the driver and installed it and got the latest revisions. when i started the update, you have to switch on th epower before i gets to 100%, and when i did this it sent a error message saying id device not found. has anyone else encountered this problem? is there something im doing wrong? i read the manual up and down over and over and still no luck. i was about to try having the power on and then starting the update however i figured id check here first since the hyperion site has a pretty specific order of things it seems. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I recently acquired a Hyperion 0615 Duo3 charger that seems to do the same thing when I select Store mode. If I put a discharged battery on it, it will charge to store level. But if I put an almost fully charged pack on it, it still charges when it should be discharging. The charger does have the latest firmware. Just wondering if anyone else with this (or any Duo3) charger has noticed this?
