Huge shrink wrap?
Where do you guys get your huge shrink wrap that goes around your deans plugs and wires? I would like some to clean up my wires.
|
Harbor freight is where I get mine, 1/2" fits good for deans.
|
Heatshrink tubing you mean? ebay, or just about any decent electrical hobby place has it from what i've seen- try hobbycity or allerc.com.
I go to ebay myself- tons of places if you try a few different key words. Unless you want that cable sheathing stuff that PC guys use to tidy up their wiring- just search for.... cable sheathing  |
HobbyCity sells it by the meter at .15cents for 2mm up to- 2.65 for 100mm per meter and of great qaulity.
I bought 24 meters in various sizes, I'm good for the rest of my LIFE . Harbor Freight and Tool another great place to score it, bought a couple boxes or precut assorted diameters at 3.99 each, was a great deal but the qaulity is so-so. |
5mm black at hobbycity is something like 16 cents a meter. Most other small sizes are 25 cents a meter. They started getting bigger sizes (14mm iirc) at 99cents per meter. I have lots of sizes, but my favorite is the 5mm and the smallest; I think it's 2mm.

Actually, some radio shack stores carry nothing but cell phones anymore. Closest one to me has very little electronics parts/supplies, have to go to the next farther one to get better selection. |
The closest Radio SHack to us is the same way, down to cell phones and some HD TV set up items - cables etc - I usually only go there to buy disk type batteries. They didn't have as many cr2032s as I wanted last time and I checked grocery store in the same parking lot on a whim - they had plenty of them and they were ~25% cheaper.
I won't be going back to Radio Shack anymore. |
Yeah, let's be honest - I wouldn't have a clue about Radioshack, I was just being a smartarse
|
25 meters of heatshrink... I went thru that in a month when I used to rebuild batteries. A typical order for me was about 70 bucks from cheapbatterypacks.com. This was for pack sized shrink, but I usually ordered alot of it, 40 feet or more.
