Which Losi micro vehicle?
Allright, with the old man winter now in full swing up here in Montana, i've been sealed inside with my Savage Flux "Frostbyte" for winter and I have a real itch to drive an RC around my apartment building and to terrorize my new kitty with. I've been looking at the Team Losi Micro scale line and i'm trying to decided which one would best suit my purposes? I do want it to go decently fast so I can chase kitty around, but I want it to have ground clearance so i don't get stuck on small, stupid things like magazines and such. Anyone have the high roller? It looks like the best deal especially since it comes with a big NimH battery and the wall charger included. Anything about these Losi micro vehicles that break often that I should upgrade off the bat? Any issues with any particular model I should know about? I also saw they have brushless upgrades for these little things which is impressive, anyone used any of those yet?
Thanks for any incite. Love my Savage Flux but I now I need something to zip around the house and entertain myself until winter passes through up here http://www.intergate.com/~rpurcell/r...ighroller2.JPG |
The nimh batteries are crap. Lipo or nothing. Check hobbycity or buy the losi lipos. I would get the longer chassis, like on the DT. You'll want the threaded axles; I think the raminator comes with them. When picking a truck check for the wheels too.
If you don't mind buying used, you can get some pretty good deals on micro ts. People get caught up spending way too much money on these lil things then sell them with all the upgrades for a low price. You can upgrade the motor to an atomic BB2 motor for more power, after the lipo of course. If you decide to get a brushless system the servo and receiver need to be changed. If you habe problems stripping diffs, the aluminum gearbox is a great upgrade. That and bearings should be the first things you do. |
Lipo can wait awhile, I just wanna enjoy it

f the 2wd micros, get the micro crawler!
but if you do want a 2wd I'g go with the high roller like you pic'd. longer chassis and more ground clearance. they're all pretty fun |
agreed
get the crawler! |
I have the baja, want the desert truck. And the high roller. And the crawler.
Ah, hell, they're all fun! |
i'd say grab the highroller + the lipo and charger then just use it!!
i wore mine out totaly!! but it's a pain in hte butt to work on so i'll leave it alone till i have hte time/money to re-build it:lol: |
Highly recomend the H-R !
You can get lipos cheap from TrueRC and leave it stock !!!! They are plenty tough and bounce off everything and rarely break. With BL you will not be able to drive it inside, It's insane with BL & Lipo. Stock motor with a nice lil' 2s and you'll have all the fun you could ask for. I sold all my micro stuff early this year but since they released the High Roller I'm thinking of getting another. It looks to cool for a Flea-RC not too. http://home.comcast.net/~truerc/read...eady_packs.htm . |
I have a micro-t, wanting to convert it to a hr. If I was going to buy a new one right now, hr all the way.

I had a Micro DT and I kind of miss it. Never did the lipo upgrade, if I had I'd prolly still have it, never broke anything on it. My biggest complaint was the basic design that makes it very expensive to upgrade to brushless since you need to replace all electronics, also those tiny ass body clips are a PITA!!!!!
