HobbyKing disaster

Hey guys... I need some advice here. I placed an order on 11/25/09 for some much needed lipos, wire, connectors, etc. I paid via Pay Pal Pay Later, since HK doesn't take a credit card. Pay Pal says they sent the payment, and sent me my Pay Later card.

But when I logged in to check my status, it's not processed, and my items are not reserved. So that now makes most half of my order out of stock now!!

I emailed CS and they haven't responded. I am starting to get seriously angry here. I would cancel the order and just wait it out if I knew what the status truly was. I'd get my wire from elsewhere, and I'd buy at least two 2s Lipos elsewhere just to have SOMETHING! I don't want to, cuz I'll pay twice as much for them, but I'm really mad about this. The closer it gets to Xmas, the worse shipping is going to get.

I'd just like to know what happend to my $280? I was told by someone here to email them. Did that. Got nothing. And that was almost a week ago.

What would you do?

Does it show the payment as being complete/accepted? If not I would guess it has something to do with that. If they don't have the money (whether or not that's your fault or the credit clearinghouse) they won't put your items on reserve. As far as getting in contact with them, all you can really do is keep emailing (part of the risk of dealing out of country is poor customer service, we have to assume that risk if we want to try and get cheap gear). Maybe call the company/bank who is handling your credit line and find out if you have been charged the $280 yet.

nightmare, im sure they will sort it out for you and answer your quesiton soon. I ordered $100 worth of zippys from them and then put my country as united arab emerites and not united kingdom... no sign of my battery either and they were dispatched on the 12 november.. some arab is playing with his buggy with his free batterys :(

Yeah, it basically shows that I did place the order, how I wanted it shipped, etc... But that it's unshipped and nothing is reserved.

I can select "pay", but then it warns me about making sure my payment hasn't been processed and dbl paying. Pay Pal Pay Later, which was offered to me at checkout from HK's site, says that they sent the money to HK, and gives me details about when and where.

Not to mention... How do u suppose that and order can placed and an order number assigned, if you didn't make it all the way thru checkout? What about all thr emails after the fact from HK thanking me for the order? And yet my order remains dead a week later?

HK has dropped the ball on this, and it is 100% their fault. And now I'm at their mercy, and have been for four days and counting.

If there is a weird issue with Pay Pal, then why didn't they give instructions otherwise?

It sucks cuz they sell good batteries at great prices. I can't afford to hate them. But I can tell u right now... I'm not going to have my Lipos to run my Summit or Emaxx until probl January. And had this not gone down this way, I'd probl have them by now.

Man, u wld have tht that a street addy and zip code wld have returned that package back to HK? Maybe yer stuff will show up next December? Ha! That stinks!

yeah when ever ive shipped something the address is allways checked before shipping.. Not sure how a UK address and zipcode can be accepted by the shipping company with the wrong contry.... Ive emailed them and they have said when / if they are returned they will contact me..thank god it was only $100 and not 300 like your order.. Still pissed about it though with myself for being a fool and not checking it.

I kinda had a similar deal a while back, it was something between them and paypal not jiving. I went through the checkout as usual, everything seemed fine. After about a week or so of it still showing "processing" and noticing it never was removed from my cc, I got on the online chat deal. Took about 20min, they ended up cancelling that order all together, and I just place another order just like it, paid for it and all while they were on the line. It went through fine. If you call the cc company, has the money been charged to the card?

IM them after 930pm our time and talk to them mono a mono and maybe get some answers ??

Hope everything sorts out for you.

Last time I did accidentally order one item that was not in stock anymore. I sent them e-mail that they should remove the item and process the other 10 items. It was done the next day, items were reserved and everything shipped after 2-3 days. Received everything with EMS in 7 days.

Check your credit card if the amount is taken away from it. Usually the money is transfereed within 30minutes and HK shows that the order has been paid for...

I got it all sorted out yesterday. They don't tell you this anywhere at check out... and they SHOULD cuz it screwed me hard. But for me anyway, since I used Pay Pal Pay Later, I had to send them the PP Transaction ID #, and once I did that, my order went thru. But now of course, 80% of my items are out of stock. So, I've sent them an email instructing them with what to remove, and what to add. This has resulted in an addl fee for me though. So, now comes the possible nightmare of paying them the difference and not having a delay! I haven't heard back since sending them that email asking what we can do about the sitch.

So... I suppose the lesson here is, if you use Pay Pal Pay Later, don't assume anything is compeleted. Send them the Transaction ID# via email w/ your order number just to be sure. I don't know if this applies to straight up pay pal payments though. I'd have to guess that it doesn't. We'll see!

Btw.. I chose EMS Express as the ship method. I hope that's the fast one.

When you buy milk do you use Pay Later option also ;) ? Ok, just kidding... didn't know such thing even existed :)

Nice to hear you got everything worked out. The HK really seems nice place to do business with. Same applies to RC-Mushroom and few other places also. Usually very nice customer service and PRICES :)

I wanted to pay via a Visa gift card, but didn't quite have enuff to cover it, and didn't have anything in my Pay Pal acct at the time, so I figured, "why not?" Pay Pal Pay Later is a 90day no-interest deal. So I went with that since I've almost got all the money anyway. I'll just pay it off in few weeks! Sweet!

just as an update, my batterys have now been returned to hobbyking!! Now I just need to revise my order and change the 30c lipo to the new 40c ones hehe

jpoprock 12.10.2009 04:47 PM

Sweet!! that's good news!

I also resolved my issue and have replaced my order just today. everything is now officially approved. Now hopefully it'll get here before Xmas.

I do have a question though... When the package comes, do you guys remember having to sign for it? If so, I would want to change my shipping addy so that I can get it at work. I'm never home during the day.
