17mm Wheel Hex Adapters for 12mm Hex on the Mini STe

Received these today & installed some 1/8th buggy wheels. Very nice adapters that slide over the stock 12mm hex's. http://rc-monster.com/proddetail.php?prod=RCM-17mmHEX

Funny, I just got a set of those adapters and installed them on my CRT.5 and I was gonna post some pictures tonight. They are really nice little adapters. They are gonna be nice. Be able to just run my old buggy tires on the little guy for bashing.

drkdgglr 12.09.2009 02:03 PM

post your pics anyway, I'd like to see how the buggy wheels look on the crt.5.

jhautz 12.09.2009 02:22 PM

I will. Just got home late last night and didnt have time.

Would it make sense to use buggy tires on a stock Crt.5 chassies ?
I havent played much with suspension setup yet but my truck feels very bouncy with these

I am using the Revo shocks front and Ofna LX in the back.

Yes they are.

Suspension setup is the next step. I haven't driven the truck with the buggy wheels yet. Today I installed Revo GTR shocks with jato springs in the front and I have hyper 9 pro big bore shocks in the rear. I have no idea where to start with diff oil and such though...

Anyone know if these adapters will fit on a mini revo?

Sweet lookin CRT, drk

Sorry for the crappy picture quality. Used my phone to take the picture. I couldn't find my good camera.

Anyway. Here ia quick shot of my CRT.5 with the 17mm adapters and some on road wheels/tires from my DM1. Looks like this will make a great little streeet basher. In case anyone is wondering. This has the original short "pro" chassis on it so it is the shortest CRT.5 possible and it still looks good on the wheel proportions IMO.

As an alternative I bolted a set of Slash wheels/tires on my stock STe for indoor racing and they seem to work well and since I have a bunch of spare wheels/tires it was a no brainer.

To the OP: any chance you could measure the average width of the truck? I'm curious how well these would allow buggy wheels fit insde the wheel wells of a short course body when mounted on a Hyper 10 SC or Mini Hyper ST.

drkdgglr 12.14.2009 12:12 PM

front and rear width are about 285mm / 11.22" measured on the outside of the wheels

MetalMan 12.14.2009 06:30 PM

The Proline Hardcorr can accomodate a width of about 11in so it looks as though these adapters won't work for short course. Thanks for the info drkdgglr!
