Ballistic rotor choices
Hello, I have been planning on upgrading my 10th scale motors for a little while and basically decided to "build a ballistic" motor for each. I am currently running a 17.5 in a T4, and 5.5 and 5.5L in a B44.
I was probably going to get the same turn motors, maybe just a 5.5L stator, but I'm not sure on what the advantages and dis - advantages are of the different rotors. So 12.3mm is standard, but I can get a 13mm, and a 14mm, and then theres some 12.3 that's stronger? I race off - road on a variety of surfaces from high grip to very little grip. What are the advantages to a bigger rotor? Is there a dis - advantage? Thanks for the help guys. |
With a larger diameter:
-the rotor provides more torque and stronger braking -increases natural drag braking - less air gap -improves the motor’s initial throttle response (Acceleration) due to more mass in the rotor -decrease in RPM (Top Speed) - due to more mass iin the rotor Hope this helps |
Thanks, Just wondering if there were any important differences other than what novak's site says, because in my opinion they were a little light on info.
Thanks though. |
