Jammin SCRT10

Recieved my Jammin SCRT10 kit today and it is sweet. I am glad I waited and got the Jammin over the Ofna and Traxxas 4x4 SC trucks. I have a CRT.5 and the Jammin shares many of the same parts. Aluminum shocks, cvd's in front, aluminum toe plates, full bearings, solid motor mount, nice rx box, plastic shock towers, nice body and esc tray. Only minus so far I have noticed is that the stock battery tray can only fit a 2s lipo.

More Pictures

More info, wide plastic 46T spur, comes with a 13T Mod 1 pinion and a bore reducer for those that want to run smaller motors with an 1/8 shaft.
A few more pictures.

Update

Started working on putting the kit together. Added a Mamba Max and Neu 1509/2D motor. Good news is most of the parts are the same as the CRT.5 so I am moving over a bunch of cnc parts (steering rack, spindles, c-hubs, wheel hex, etc). This also means replacement parts will be easy to get since the CRT.5 has been out for a while. Bad news (at least for me) is that the Battery will only hold a 2s lipo pack. I guess this is ok if you will be running a smaller brushless motor and 2s, but I want to use my Neu 1509 on 3s. I was running the Neu and 3s in my modded CRT.5 and it was a rocket and ran very cool, so I moved my custom carbon fiber battery tray over to the SCRT10 so I could use a 2s or 3s battery.

The Neu 1509 is slightly bigger than a castle 5700 motor.

My custom battery tray, uses the existing holes in the chassis.

Here is a Protek 2s and a Losi 3s all 5000mah. Only the 2s will fit in the stock tray. My Reedy 2s hardcase also fits in the stock tray.

Yeah I can't wait to get out on the track. My CRT.5 was one of my favorite trucks, so the longer SCRT10 should be sweet.

Looks good, didnt expect it to come with the pinion and bore reducer, nice features :)

Cant tell But are the suspension components- Aside from the shock towers- the same as the crt.5

phatmonk 12.19.2009 02:22 PM

Is the chassis plate from the original nitro CRT.5?

magman 12.19.2009 06:47 PM

How much longer is the chassis than your crt.5

brushlessboy16 12.19.2009 07:04 PM

stock crt.5 has a wheelbase of 8.8in
Scrt is 12.75in

BrianG 12.19.2009 08:26 PM

I'm thinking of picking up that plastic spur for my CRT.5 to lighten things up a bit.

Finnster 12.19.2009 10:49 PM

What would it take to convert a .5 to a SCRT? Looks like mostly a longer chassis and a the bumper/body mounts. I like some of the hardware a bit better on the .5 (towers, CD mount mostly, does it have plastic knuckles?) but looks GTG.

How long is Mike's .5 chassis?

They seem to be exactly the same as what is on the CRT.5 pro. aluminum shock bodies, screw type adjusters, alloy/plastic shock cap.

It looks like a stretched CRT.5 chassis. Has the mounting holes in the chassis for the nitro parts (not used).

Update

Finished the body, just a super fast rattle can job, I normally use faskolor but that paint takes weeks to cure and I wanted the body dry so I could get it out on the track tomorrow. I installed the battery tray, motor, esc and tested it on the work bench. One thing I did notice was the stock tires are pretty hard (compound) and much smaller than what others are running. See the picture where I compare the stockers to some Pro-line bow ties for an Associated SC10.

Stock tires and pro-line bow ties (Associated sc10) the Bow tires look wider than normal because there not mounted, but you can see how much taller (larger diameter) they are.
