Which brushless motors to get?

I have 2 Warrior 9920 controllers. I bought 3 3cell lipos from maxamps(the 6000mah).

Question 1: Which BK motor should I buy to go with my rustler and a 3cell lipo? The rustler has stampede size tires on it.(probably even going to get the adapters so I can run revo tires on my rusty)

Question 2: Which BK motor should I get for my e-revo and 2 3cell lipos, so I need a motor that will go well with 6cell lipo.

I will be bashing both of these trucks pretty hard so I need something that isnt going to overheat when I run them hard and fast.

Also could someone tell me the difference between the 9920 and the 12020 controllers? I would gladly pay the price difference for the 12020 if it ran a little cooler.

Oh one more thing. I need a good voltage cutoff for the lipos. I want one that cuts the power rather then something that just has an LED indicator. Will I need 2 voltage cutoffs for my revo? one for each battery?

On the rustler you might want to look at something like a 12s motor with higher gearing. An 8s motor would work but it might be a little insane on 3s.

If you want to run 6s(2 3s packs in a series) you might want to look at a 9or10XL.

on my rusty....would a 12s motor with higher gearing get better run times then 10s motor with a little lower gearing?

What kind of run times do you think I could expect out of my revo with 2 6000mah packs and a 10xl motor?

I'd go with the 12s, that way you have extra torque on hand so you can gear it up for speed runs if you want, or gear it down for extended runs, and either way it will run pretty cool. I sure hope your rustler tranny is built up, because that setup will eat it alive.

Yes my tranny has a few upgrades. I currently have a BK 7s motor in my rusty with a 8000mah 2 cell battery. The power is insane but it gets way to hot. I'm hoping that going to 3 cell will fix my overheating problem without losing to much of the power that I currently enjoy with my 7s.

Crap... BK 12s is out of stock. What would be the next best thing. Would a Feigao 380C 13T be any good?

nitrostarter 03.08.2006 07:32 AM

You could also look at the Feigao 380c 6L. It'll provide the torque to move it and still have plenty of speed.

I would think that you could get a good 30-35 minutes of runtime with a 9xl in your revo with those lipos.

For 3s Lipo, I would take the 10s over the 12s. The 380c6L is also an excellent choice(this would probably be my overall choice).
For 6s Lipo on the Revo, I would use a 1940/8 or 1940/9. The 1950/7 or 1950/8 are also excellent choices. The wanderer 8xl or 9xl would also be a nice budget minded option. :)

I'd advise against running maxx or revo sized wheels/tires on the rusty/pede trucks. They put too much strain on the small 1/10th axle stubs, bearings, driveshafts, tranny, steering arms, etc. etc.

A 9xl on 6000 mah lipo 6s would give you great power and run time. I would guess about 45 min run time. I got 25min on gp 3700 with a 9xl.

coolhandcountry--where would you find a such a lipo pack? 6s 6000mah?

Coolhand is talking about the pack hyperasus got. also hyperasus got 2 3s packs instead of getting a 6s.

coolhandcountry 03.08.2006 05:54 PM

Well if you run 2 3s packs you are running 6s. Unless you run them 3s 2p. I was talking total.
