Ready to go Brushless!

I have been getting my E-Maxx ready to handle all the power of brushless and now I am not sure what motor to go with. I like the Warrior 9920 speed controller and want to run Hot IB 3800 9 cell battery packs. I want to know what motors will run cool give me long run times. I want an even mix of torque and speed and will use it for a mix of racing and bashing/jumping. I would really like to be able to consistantly get in the 45 mph range and stay cool. Is this possible? What gearing would achieve this? Is a Feigao 8 XL about right?

My truck is relatively light with a good mix of titanium, aluminum, and composite parts.

8xl would run a little hot. I'd go 9 or 10xl

Do you know where I can get a Feigao 9XL? All I see on this site are the 9L's or the Wanderer 9XL's.

Wanderer are basically feigao. But wanderers have better bearings and come presoldered with 5.5mm gold connectors.

Hi Krowdy! welcome to the forum!

You mean you are going to run 9 cells in total or 2 packs of 9 cells?

nitrostarter 03.08.2006 07:41 AM

I was thinking the same thing Serum, 9 cells won't get you 45mph in a Emaxx :005:

18 cells would be good with a 9XL. A strobe slipper will be a must. Gearing you might want to start off at 18/51, Or if you're light enough you might be able to go 20/51.

I think the 9xl for 18cells would do good. about 25 - 30 min runtime as well.

I want to run 2 - 9 cell packs.

So when you guys are talking about the 8,9 and 10XL's you have from Feigao, you are running the BK Wanderers that are being sold on this sight...correct? I just want to be sure I am getting the correct motors when I purchase.

The feigo xl motors are the same as the wanderers but the wanderers have better bearings.

20/51 would probably be to high. more like 18/51 although i would recommend the 10xl instead of the 9xl. 20/51 on 18 cells with a 10xl.

What all have you did to the truck to take brushless power? Do you have the stock diffs or buggy diffs(ue)? Got a pic of the truck. I like to see it.
