WTB: Emaxx BL Edition or Savage Flux?
What should i buy, they are both the same price on Amain? i mean it basically comes down to the quality of the trucks since they are both powered by Castle.

savage flux all the way. it will take more abuse, the driveline is more solid, the motor mount is better IMO, HPI has a better warranty, there are more chassis related upgrades, it is just all-around better.

nothing is made strong on a stock e-maxx IMO
weak! savage flux all the way! |
Maxx's are OK, but the bulkhead design is over 10 years old and is totally inadequate to handling the impacts now with the extended arms (more moment - aka torque - on the hing pins), and the speed of new technology.
I will never buy a Maxx style vehicle until they revise the bulkhead design. Simply put, it sucks. Either spring for the ERBE (E-Revo Brushless Edition) or get the Flux. The ERBE is great, you might have to add RCM 1/8th diffs (depending on the voltage you run) and stiffer springs/oil and you'll have yourself one tough truck. |
I'm a bit biased here, but I find the Savage Flux to be nigh on indestructable (and it hasn't been for lack of trying!)
|
The savage is a tank but IMO its harder to work on than the emaxx. I just sold my emaxx so I can get a savage flux.

Another vote for the flux.

I too hate the maxx bulkheads/dogear chassis. Savage is way better. Worth even $100 extra than the maxx. |

Ive owned 8 3905 emaxx's.....it takes hundreds of extra dollars to make a 3905 as durable as a Flux,,,
|
I would have to go with the flux as well. Maxx trucks are cool in their own way, and I will always own a 3905 (with my lst diff upgrade...) that is setup as stock as possible. Good lightweight truck, but the savvy can handle a beating better. Neither can hold a candle to a lst... I have all three (multiples of the lst and savages) and find them all fun in their own ways.

red and yellow black and white they are PRECIOUS in Lincs sight!
