Ripped wires off MMM
Alright so i was running my 8ight-b today and I made a little jump hit it a few times, Well I landed upside down once and the case and the MMM came apart and ripped the RX wires off the board. Not only did it come off but it broke off the little solder tabs off the board, Now I can't even solder the wires back on. So would this be covered under warranty?

You can wait for Castle's official word, but I would say no. A warranty is intended to cover defects in components or workmanship. Landing upside down hard enough to break the PCB is not a defect, it's probably considered abuse. But you can pay the $70 flat repair fee and they will repair/replace it no matter what you do to it. Not free, but cheaper than a new ESC.

thanks for the reply Brian, I see where your coming from but the bottom off the case was secured very well and was still there after the case opened and let loose. I mean our trucks are upside down alot and the case should be able to stay closed for that, hopefully castle will warranty it.

two sided tape or velcro on the bottom isn't enough to hold an mmm down. ziptie that sob or get the traxxas hold down for it. these r/c's are going atleast 30mph and 30-0 in 0.0 seconds is extreme force. An expensive lesson but castle shouldn't have to pay it, they already knew that.

Oh I read it all. Completely understood the bottom of the case stayed behind. How many times had you had it open?

Maybe castle will disagree and warranty it. If you tell them the same story you wrote here, I doubt it. Not starting a flame war, IMO you should have fastened it better. I'm sure you will next time. The traxxas hold downs are the shit and have a place for the switch. |

These 1:8 ESCs really can't be mounted only by double sided tape. They weigh a lot plus the wires. You have to use some sort of mounting that holds the ESC in place from above. I use rubber bands pulled over the ESC. Or the Traxxas mounting brace seems nice for MMM.

well, it would have held if you hadn't opened it, once you do those little clips wear out pretty quick. Shitty deal, but castle is cool. Call them up and see what they say phone: (913) 390-6939 • fax: (913) 390-6164 • e-mail: info@castlecreations.com
