Need some help from the lipo gods. I mean linc.
I picked up a couple turnigy lipos, soldered them up yada yada... Aaand now that I think about it I did short one of the batts while I was soldering it. Seems to be an all to common occurance for my dumb-ass.
Anyways, put them in the savage and ran it for a few minutes then all of a sudden it died. I had ANOTHER holy christ it is going to light on fire moment but after I relaxed I could not figure out the problem. Got it inside, figured the esc was dead as I could not get anything to work, no esc, servo nudda. Figured my hokey waterproofing job did not work on the esc, then out of curiosity checked the batt voltages. Wow I am going off topic. To make a long story short, one cell has nudda, dead cell. Checked the solder job out, everything looks to be connected. Did I kill a cell when i shorted it? This aint my first time shorting a battery but is the first time I have killed one. |
No idea, how did you check to see if one cell was dead? Use the balancer wiring of check across the main leads?
|
Yup.
Since any thread is worthless without pics, I took a couple of the "snuggies" I made for my batteries. This is how we roll in the north haha. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...nuggies001.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y64...nuggies002.jpg |
Also, I checked the cells as soon as I got the batteries and they were fine. They also charged and balanced just dandy.
|
my guess is that you have a bad solder joint. the same thing happened to one of my 3s zippy lipos......twice....in different spots.
|
Well I guess I will try re-soldering the connection(s).
If I do not report back within the hour, someone PLEASE call a whambulance. |

Cheap and nasty lipos but still good value. |

Much better idea to keep you batts warm than my method of stuffing them down my pants and thinking about Jessica Biel... Check this out, I laughed my ass off: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h05ZQ7WHw8Y |
Well, tried re-soldering it and still nothin. Really can not complain though, we are all aware of the "danger" of ordering chinese packs but for the price there is no reason to bitch!

Hmm, damnit. The 5C charge rate on the g3's give me a half-chub. Even though my charger will only do up to 20A, god damn that is a fast charge!

Here you go Jas
http://www.allerc.com/index.php?cPat...t_order&page=3 Make sure you purchase the VX line...you won't be disappointed! |
Did you open the packs up? There is going to be a trace of solder missing more than likely. I've had this happen also. On the board I had the whole trace missing.
