mmm with 6s lipo
Im currently lanning on building a brushless 1/8 buggy. I was looking to use the 2200kv motor so i could run 2x3s lipos in series to make it a 6s. But now im thinking this could cause problems so would i be better off using the 2650kv motor and just using single 3s batteries or 2x3s batteries in parallel to give extra run time? Some of you will probably be asking why i dont use 4s lipos thats because i use only 3s lipos for my rc helicopters so ive already got plenty of them.

Should be fine if the lipos are up to the task, you don't mind charging two lipos, geared correctly and have a series connector. IMO better than running the 2650 on 3s. I only buy 2 and 3s lipos you can re-configure for all the rest 4s, 5s & 6s, uses a smaller charger and power supply too.

The MMM 2200 combo on 6s is very powerful, if it is for a basher it should be fine. If it is for a racer, you may want to consider different voltage or different motor.

lol for racing you are better off with the 2650 on 3 or 4 cell
i am running a 1400kv T8 in my buggy on 6cell and it is just stupid fast, a 2200kv on 6cell would just be useable power.................like dbedbe said, perfect for bashing:yes: |
Thanks everyone, im only bashing so ill go ahead with it.

What size chopper do you fly? I've been trying to learn to fly one for the last couple years.
|
I fly a trex 450, im only a beginner and its not easy.

Don't 450's only use small capacity lipos (<2500mah)? Don't know if your packs will be up to the task unless they're very high quality cells. Even then, runtimes will be short. Saving money by sharing lipos between vehicles is a great idea, but the 2200 requires more amperage than your current lipos can dish out IMO.

Yup, the last thing you want is to fry some perfectly good heli packs :na:
