if nothing lines up then sure make your own holes. It won't hurt a thing.

mad_about_losi 01.07.2010 07:21 PM

thye thing is there aren't any holes for mounting the battery tray.

brushlessboy16 01.07.2010 09:29 PM

there are plaenty from fuel tank mounts, pipe hanger etc.

Using tons of exclimation points doesnt get a faster answer.

Here's how the set ups going to look, and brushlessboy16 I didn't put the exclamation point to try to get a faster answer, it was a jk. This is my first conversion so I want to do everything right. Thanks for all the help.

Just make whatever holes you need. From experience, I would recommend using the 4mm screws since they hold better. Drill 4mm (5/32" is close) holes in the chassis, and then 3mm (1/8" is close) holes in the tray so the screws self tap. Don't forget to countersink the holes from underneath the chassis. A couple points to consider for tray placement though:

1) Make sure your holes don't end up where the velcro is going to go.

2) Try to make it so that the velcro strap is not directly near the spur. If the tolerance is close, it could rub.

Thanks BrianG for your help.

No problem. Frankly, I am surprised at some of the rather curt responses...

mad_about_losi 01.07.2010 10:39 PM

BrianG I was just looking at your Hyper 8 and was wondering how you fabricated the antenna mount?

BrianG 01.07.2010 10:51 PM

It's just a piece of aluminum attached to the servo mounts. And the antenna base is some Integy mount IIRC. Normally, I don't go for Integy, but it was all the LHS had.
