RX8 hotwire question

i just installed the rx8 in my 8ight, and i'm getting this message just before the Hotwire settings screen pops up.

"some of the user values are outside of the expected range! Your ESC may not be compatable with this version of the Hotwire"

when the screen settings do load, i am able to run foward with no reverse, change my voltage cutoff, and so forth. am i missing something? i'm on version 198. is there another version available? or another, newer hotwire?

any help is greatly appreciated.

No you are not! Castle has the industry cornered as far as simple software. I have used both and castle by far is simpler

try reflashing the ESC with the latest firmwire...

knowtice, the voltage cutoff may not work right if it gives you that error(it didn't on mine)

Download the latest software from our website, that note will go away.

FYI, this is for anyone who downloads to the new Vegas...
here was my experience...

i had the earlier version of hotwire installed.(i think it was 198.) even though i uninstalled it all through add/remove programs, the zip file was still on my desktop and wouldn't let Vegas work until i deleted that zip file too, so keep that in mind.

also, I assume the turbo feature only seems to work with sensored motors. i programmed my redline 17.5 with the turbo on my RS pro, but the option didn't come up when my RX8 was attached to a neu/2650.

these escs are FUN with the hotwire programming capability. I'm happy i converted!:yes:

I've got the same issue. Just downloaded the latest software — haven't tried yet.

The turbo function is only available in sensored only mode.

I'm going to lend the RX8 to a friend to use on 17.5T touring car. I don't have Hotwire at hand to test out before the raceday.

So I need to configure my RX8 to be used on 2S LiPo with sensored 17.5T 540-size motor on a 1350g weighing 1/10 touring car. Just wondering if I get all the options RS PRO users are getting or not?

snellemin 01.27.2010 06:01 PM

The RX8 doesn't have the turbo function. But it's beast running a 2.5T motor on 3s.

Lauri 01.27.2010 07:28 PM

That's sad... lets hope that the simple electronic timing advance can give some speed atleast but ok... it will be slower than RS Pro's and MMP's then.

TekinTeamMgr 01.28.2010 01:22 PM

The guys are correct. The RX8 cannot run sensored only mode.
