LIPO charging
Heres my question :
I have a MRC 977 super brain which charges 2 batteries at once. And it will do LIPO's also. I also have an HK battery medic which will balance up to 6 cells while charging or not. What I want to do is charge both lipos through the high power cables and wire my single balancer between the two 2S1P batteries to keep them balanced while charging. Will this work? Keep in mind that both A&B sides are different charging circuits. All answers will be greatly appreciated. |
If I understand , you want to parallel the balance connnection between packs while they charge thru the main lead like normal.
I could try to parallel a pair of packs on my 977 (without balancer because it won't matter) Basically it is like hooking both outputs together and I'm not sure if it'll cause problems if the packs contain the same number of cells. OR did you want to series connect the balancer? If so that will not work out. The best thing to do might be to balance them "on the side" so to speak and just balance one at a time while charging them both at same time. |
You need to make the balancer see the 2 lipos as one big one, and that wont work without the balancer being part of the charger (same effect as wiring a pair of lipos in series to the charger and using the built in balancer). There needs to be a ground/black wire from both lipos connected to the balancer in this instance, and you cant do it without wiring both lipos to the balancer in parallel; not advisable as the balancing wont be accurate due to small differences in cell voltage between the two lipo packs.
In short, wont work. You need to buy another lipo balancer if you want to use both charge circuits on the charger, have a balancer for each lipo. |
Thanks guys.
