A few guys have used that motor on 2S in a CRT.5 and it worked great. I use the Medusa 50x3300 on 3S in my 1/10 truck sized CRT.5 and it is ballistic.

I use the Medusa 36-50-4800 and 2s lipo in my CRT.5 and it's a great combo. I have geared it anywhere from about 28-40MPH and never had any temp issues. I run a MM esc with no mods

Sounds like a good combo to me. I ran a 4500kv neu motor on 2s in the mini hyper ste and it did very well. Similar sized truck. Plus 2s lipo will help keep the weight down!

TO know if the setup is OK :
first never exceed 50.000 rpm : so 4800 * 7.4 = 35000 rpm. You are far from 50000 (even at the begining of the run while lipo deliver more or less 8V = 40000rpm)

Now for you truck : you just have to adjust pignon / spur ratio tohave you motor not to hot (never exceed 60/65° in Clesius)
