Battery hold down questions?

Hi All,

I've destoyed (god damn it) my Neu 5s1p 6500mah battery, it came through the front wall on my Losi Battery tray, and the bottom cell is squished to hell. I'm not daring enough to use it now. :(

Couple of questions for the racers as I'm about to stop bashing and start racing this season:

1 - Does anyone make cinch straps that are longer than 12" / 30cm in length that will support a 5S lipo??

2 - Do most of you racing using Hard or Soft lipo's?

3 - Are you running 4S/5S batteries or 2S/3S in series?

4 - Are you running dual lock velcro in your trays, and do you find it helpful to lock the battery in (reason I ask is that my dual lock has disintergrated over time showing me it did not help stop battery sliding)?

thanking you all in advance

I think some of those Q's are more related to the specific car and track you are planning on.

Going by what you have - 8t mmm 2200. I would be running a single 4s. If it's quite a large track then 5s.

I don't see the point in having 2 packs in series when they will be in the same tray.

You may also want to check what the track rules are in regard to hardcase lipo's.

I use dual lock velcro under the battery tray and rarely remove the tray as it works well for me.

thanks for the info Panda.

The club I'm joining does not mandate I run hard-case packs. I would like to however run a single 4S or preferably a 5S Hard Case, but no decent (Enerland based) pack is available at a resonable price. Running 2 x 2S hardcase packs is my only option I guess.

I made my own cinch strap to keep my 5S battery in place.
