Ofna DM1 Spec Brushless Build

I bought dangerwr's DM1 on the 8th of this month. I am ready to get this build laid out on the table. I should receive it Tuesday. I am going with the MMM 2200kv and a Neu Electronics 5500ah 4s 35c lipo. It should do just fine for me. I will be in the smaller parking lots racing and drifting. I thought about trying the 2 speed for speed runs. Any input from you pros would be helpful.

Here are the pics he sent me of my car.

Why not ditch the 2 speed and run a center diff all the time? In my mbx-5 on road conversion I am using the center diff w/the 2200 castle combo and can easily hit 50+ with tall gearing. IMO it is just simpler that's all.

Look forward to your pics!

he also included a single speed. How's that MMM? Pretty strong?

magman 01.17.2010 10:13 PM

Yup very strong...I run 3 in total w/no worries. If you haven't bought your esc yet, the mmpro may be another option especially if you want the sensored feature

fastlane01 01.17.2010 10:18 PM

mmpro? where do I get that @

magman 01.17.2010 10:22 PM

right here! http://www.rc-monster.com/brushlesscontrollers.php?pg=2

will that work on an 1/8 scale? What motor would I run?

brushlessboy16 01.17.2010 10:30 PM

tekin t8 would be a good choice. kv dependent on your voltage and desired speed

magman 01.17.2010 10:30 PM

It will work for 1/8...you could still use the 2200ccneu or you could go for a Tekin 2200 buggy motor and run it in sensored mode. The Tekin motors can be run in either sensored or non sensored

fastlane01 01.17.2010 10:31 PM

how's tekins customer support?

brushlessboy16 01.17.2010 10:37 PM

Just as good as castle creations

magman 01.17.2010 10:43 PM

either choice..castle or Tekin, you really can't go wrong

fastlane01 01.17.2010 10:48 PM

I have a close friend who owns a hobby store and he's really giving me a killer deal on the castle combo. I appreciate all the help and I see now I am in the right direction. I will have pics of the build as soon as I start receiving parts. Mainly the car.

Oh yeah BTW do I need a BEC? I will be running 4s.
