Edit: swine!

Anyway, they really do work well, very little loss of traction.

They do seem to work extremely well, but can you imagine the damage one of those screws can do if they come off?!?! I wouldn't want to get hit with a sharp projectile going 40mph+! :oh:

I'm with you on that one, i can just see that thing running up someone's leg :gasp:

other than that horrible mental image, it looks like they work great

That's pretty awesome man. Depending on what type of head those screws have on them they may not even come out.

They are pan heads, I would have to blow the tire for one of those to come out.

more video when lake top freezes again...

LOL ...my working name just for fun was "The Green Manalishi" --Judas Priest song from the 80's...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT2Dk...eature=related

But maybe it should be just the "Grinder" (coincidentally another JP song) ...yes I was a big fan of 80's heavy metal, not to be confused with 80's 'Hair Bands' for the younger music fans out there...

Thats pretty cool ( no pun intended ), got a little bit wheel spin but plenty of grip too, just about right for some ice drifting..

Byte 02.11.2010 04:51 PM

The idea works very well... But I don't get why you would want to have traction on ice? If I want traction I will just drive on the road?

You may not get it because you don't have a huge lake almost in your backyard with no 'open' areas (road or grass in the winter) to drive around.

The partial traction makes it a different kind of fun to drive around, and being in the middle of a frozen lake is a very unique visual you can't get in the summer...

Just curious if you ask the same question of any RC car that drives in the snow with chains? They should probably just drive on a road also, huh???
