HV to MMM on my X1crt

any body out there have any actual gearing insite for an X1CRT, mm 2200. I just had to drop My HV and in order to get that system to run cool i had to gear it 9/62. I will be running 2x2s either 5000/35c,5200/30c.Thanks

i put a 48t on mine and with that spur i ran 11-12, with the massive 62 i ran a 13-14

On 4S, 13:62 is a pretty sweet gearing spot for the Castle/Neu 2200kv

why 62 to 48

hey greg, just wondering why you made the change down to the 48. I thought about doing it out of hand butthe tech from techno rc said he thought it would be hard to get this truck geared properly on a 48, did you have heatproblems with the 62 ?

Ran mine last season with 13/62 on 5s on a large track (80x230) and found it great on 4s it was also great, was able to get through the tighter stuff a little easier. The problem that I started to have was with the centre diff needed constant rebuilding mostly due to chassis flex, all this went away after I started using the tekno kit and I still run 13/48 mostly on 5s but that demands a careful trigger finger on track.

X1 gearing?

so was ittearing up cases,planitaries,spurs?

big greg 01.31.2010 04:14 PM

i didnt like the massive noisey 62t so i ran a 48t losi spur on it until i got a 46t plastic kyosho

X1 gearing?

thanks greg, i tried the kyosho 46 on my crt.5 but the gear was to thick and the bearing was missized so i gave it up.You have aparently had some sucsess with it.Is it a direct bolt in as i suspect,or is there alot of shmuzing required.Additionaly,is the losi spur you mentioned a plastic gear or is it steel? And do you recall what ratios you used for these two spurs? Thanks loads

48t losi metal, 12t pinion, 46t kyosho, 11-12

my X1 eats mod 1's ?

anyone had problems with that 62 spur tearing up pinions in ten or fifteen runs.I tried it tight "just a hint of lash",i tried it at what i always thought was normal tick tick notebook paper set lash and it has burned up 5 or six pinions in less than two months and im only running once or twice a week no more than four or five runs a night. I run 12 and 14 mod 1's mostly 14's.Im just about ready to put an AE 48 plastic on and see if itll run fast & cool but greg didnt say what temps his MM2200 was running on his steel 48 and that info would be useful thanks

sounds like a mesh problem, try setting the mesh with the pinion not set screwed to the shaft but let it turn freely on the shaft against the spur, and find where the mesh smoothest with the least noise. tighten the set screw and you should be golden. you are going to find that running a small pinion (anything smaller than 13-14) is going to eat a plastic spur very easily if not meshed perfect and even then will wear fast. unless running 5s the 2200kv combo is great with the large spur. I changed to truggy ring and pinions. you can use the hot bodies ring and pinions from the Lightning stadium to lower your gearing and run a smaller spur which will bring you closer to the original gearing with the 62t. its great because u can actually fit your batteries on the chassis with all the extra room. and you have more pinion options as mikes mount does not leave much room to gear up with the 62 spur. hope this helps.

that was another reason i didnt like the 62t its really thin and eats up pinions, just put a 12t with the 48 plastic and you will be good

x1 to x2crt gearing ?

to make a long story short i was running my x1 w/MM 2200 ,14/62,4s zippys and after6 weeks of flawless running it dropped 1 cell on 3 of 4 of the zippys and then it fried the ESC. Castel sent me a new 2200 and a remanned ESC so i think the motor failed witch took down the zippys and then i used my reedys on the (unknown to me) failing motor and in turn fried the esc insted of the battery. So i got it back and i decided to change all the gearing to the X2CRT.Im runnig a shimmed plastic AE 48 th spur and the X2 spiral cut diff gears with the same electronics as before "less the zippys" anyone have a suggestion on what pinnion to run. thanks
