Anyone race with the slipperential?
 

If so was there a dramatic change in lap times?

I'm going to say no, a skilled finger or thumb (whichever TX type you use) and a well setup ESC will negate any benefits from actively slipping, most buggys/truggies are sturdy enough that they don't regularly break driveshafts to benefit from passive slipping, and there is not a big enough weight difference over a regular centre diff to slow you down noticably.

A smooth finger doesn't take up any shock during hard impacts, such as a big jump landings or acceleration through a very rough terrain. Also, most mere mortals are nowhere near as smooth or consistant as a properly adjusted slipper will be - this is where slipper clutches improve performance. Likewise, an ESC cannot detect the terrain and reduce transferred torque "on demand" or "real time" - it can only manage the raw power output, while the slipper reacts to the terrain. As far as lap times go - there are a lot of variables. In low traction or very rough tracks, the Slipper's advantages show themselves to a larger degree than on a high bite, smooth track where traction control is less critical. In all cases, the slipper will reduce shock load to the rest of the drivetrain.

I race with the slipperential on both buggy and truggy. I dont know if they make laps faster, but I do feel that they make them more consistent.

cannot imagine racing without Slipperential. I dont have to worry about slamming the throttle on low traction tracks as well about landing under throttle.

I don't use punch control at all. Linear throttle curve. No cutoff.
It is all about throttle control. I am not the fastest most of the time, but I win races thanks to consistency.

Oh I just wish i was as fast with my nitro buggy :)

Oh well it will be a few weeks before it warms up and dries up enough to race here in middle TN that will give me more time to as killer Beazs says SAVE UP :lol:

It's great for racing! Out of corner punch out wo wheelie & with the 4 wheels always in contact with the ground.

I hv it in both my truggy n buggy. Wasted scrt10 can't use it.
