New to me Losi 8ight

I picked up a Losi 8ight for a 100 bucks and am looking to convert.

So Amain has a tekno kit for the 8ight 1.0 for 60 bucks, good deal?

Or should I stick with the stock chassis and go with the Losi conversion and a RCM motor mount.

Losi kit and the tekno kit come with a lot of goodies each. But with the spur so far away I don't know, unless you can flip it around.

I'm all ears to any advice.

tekno is great, but only if you want to use a clutch, if you want it run clutchless the the rcm mount is prefect

definately go with the RCM mount. imo, it's the very best available. i like it because it gives you every gearing option under the sun. you can gear it 10-30T+ pinions and you'll have plenty of room.

on the tekno, you also have to run long bore pinions, and they don't have pinions that go very high in tooth count. so that limits your options. the losi mount sucks imo. bad design and very limited in gearing.

here are some pics of a few of my 8ights. this is one of the ones i use for speed runs, so it dosen't have any mud guards on it. It does have the RCM mount and the losi battery tray. i like the losi tray the best because it's also the biggest i've found.

I decided to got he Tekno route since Amain had them for 70 bucks. I will not be using the electric clutch or the motor mount but everything else is a go. I plan on using the RCM motor mount with the Tekno kit.

I finished the Tekno kit and I think I am going to go with a long shank pinion for cost reasons. Then I will be purchasing another Kershaw designs motor with the Hobbywing 150amp ESC. Pictures coming soon.
