looking for a good engine..
 

well yea im getting into nitro and i picked up a redcat truggy cheap.. 50$ :party:
the only thing is that the engine is shot so i was looking to pick up another one. anybody have one that they would sell for cheap? or if you have any opinons on which motors i should look at.

OS is definitely the best, but not cheap. Easy to tune and last forever.

Look on Ebay, I was watching the Lois 454's from XXL sell for 110-120.00. A couple buddys of mine have that motor in truggys are dam their FAST !!!!!Potent motor.

So, which is it; "motor" or "engine"? A "motor" is electric, and "engine" is combustion-based. :wink:

i was looking over the engine in my truggy and the only thing that worries me is that my pull start is almost hitting the rear hinge pin retainer. im not sure if other engines are longer. i think it is a .18 engine but its not marked at all :neutral:
are the mounting holes universal in terms of spacing? i was looking at a few on ebay but i dont know if different size engines use diff spacing.

Its pretty much two different types. Bigblock and smallblock. Smallblock would be like a Revo or such, and a bigblock is a 1/8th buggy or truggy, LST, Savage, etc. 1/8th truggies all have bigblocks, which is typically .21 and higher. The main differences between them is the bolt spacing and the exhaust port size. Its pretty simple really...I would get a OS .21 V-spec, but there not cheap....
