Rcalloys out of business.
The word is just in, and the news is not good.
To: "JERRY HILL" <jerry2kone@yahoo.com>Hi Jerry Word on the street is true, we pulled the plug on the site last week. Decided it was time to back away from the adventure. Way too much going on and to keep track of a site and make parts just got to be too much. Spread the word if you would. Thanks! BILL @ RC ALLOYS This really sucks. |
Also from bill
Hi Jerry
Yes, I can imagine everyone is beginning to freak out wondering where to go for custom shafts now. Maybe someone else will step up and offer the service. We've apparently held the market on it for many years. Thanks for all the support over the years from all the RC Groupies! Thanks! BILL @ RC ALLOYS |
That's sad. I'm glad I bought some from him before.
|
Mmmm....too bad. Maybe Mike can pick more up. I know he's done some time to time
|
Were you getting some shafts to fit your new cd mount? What size do you need? I don't make them but I've had a quick look at what other cars use as stock. LST1 axle cvd's are about 145mm, mammoth front centre swing shaft's are 182mm off the top of my head.
If you don't mind dealing with Dan @ kershaws, he can also help with stock shaft lengths. If not then I would just ask Mike for a custom. |
Not sure
Not sure but I think that Dan was getting his shafts from RCALLOYS. Myabe not, but there are a few of the suppliers who were using them as a source for shafts. At any rate with them out of the picture that leaves the door open for either someone else to step up for the R/C community and make a little bit more money, or for a new entrepreneur to come out of the woodwork and find their nitche helping us out. It is sad to see them out of the hobby, but either way someone will emerge as our new go to guy for shafts. Maybe one of you will find a new way to make some money from our needs.
|
Crap. That's where I was going for shafts for my new cd/motor mount. Anyone want to buy me a lathe? I'll take their place:whistle:
|
If it will help people out there, I can add a section to my site that lists the dimensions of the shafts from various vehicles. That way, people can maybe find something that will work...

Perfect
Perfect BG. That is the best drawing I have seen in regards to the driveshaft demensions.
|
Cool. So, would a scheme like I use for the shock dimensions page be good?
|
Brian- the shock page scheme looks perfect. What you've done for the r/c hobbyist is priceless. I can't thank you enough. Thank you!!!
