Thanks to all who protect this great land of ours.... From someone who was in the air that unforgetful day.....Never forget... NEVER!!!! |
Yes, lets never forget 9/11. I believe that tragic day proved that Americas strength to stand up and live.
I can honestly say that our men and women are doing a good job rebuilding the country. I seen it first hand during my 2 tours. I know there are many that disagree with the whole ordeal but they are entitled to their opinion. It just disappoints me that only the negatives are are the only things televised. |
That has to be one of the better video's I've seen on this tragic event. God Bless!
Also, the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. My brother's getting a DVD from a guy he works with. The DVD is a a 75 minute DVD of a guy riding out the storm in his shrimp boat. Through the 24ft. rise in water, 2 hour break during the eye, and the devastation to be witnessed, I'd like to see. There's a part where he see's people crawling over debris floating in the water, he rescues them and cleans them off seeing that they were covered in diesel. I can't wait to see this one. |
i dont think anyone will forget that very tragic day. God Bless
|
I don't think a video of 9/11 almost 5 year's later will bring back memory's of those that forgot about that day.
Nobody will forget that day, nobody. |
Sometimes watching something like that makes me remember to not take life for granted. Sometimes I forget the little things in life that are so easily forgotten. That video brings my perspective back a little. I will always get that "lump in my throat" when i see this video. And i guess, Sneek, that if some people dont remember that horrible day, then i guess nothing will. What a sad day for them then.....
|
Your right about that.
|
I clearly remember where i was, what i felt and how it got to me.
First i thought it was an accident, and then the live cams showed the 2nd plane crashing into it. I was petrified. couldn't believe what my eyes told me. or didn't want to believe. the anger that got to me that moment.. the great impotence.. but, who wasn't petrified, angry and sad that day... |
i'm never gonna forget 9/11 it was unbelievable seeing a huge plane just crash straight into a building in the middle of a big city. It was like something off a movie. truely something i will never forget.
|
Yeah, it was pretty frightening to me too. My first thought was that it MUST have been an accident. I mean, who in their right mind would do such a thing??? Of course the key term here is "right mind". As scared as other people are/were, imagine what the people in the buildings or planes felt once they realized what was going on!
I had just gotten back from a plane trip when it happened and was due to fly again as soon as the airports opened. I can tell you I was quite apprehensive about flying again so soon. Especially once it was discovered that one of the terrorists boarded from somewhere in Maine, which is where I lived at the time. It makes you wonder who's next. It also makes you wonder that if those people are so willing to die for their "cause" (or lack thereof), why take other innocents with you? I still think the US was WAYYY too lenient and undecisive, but I don't want to get into a political debate. It truly is very angering to see such a waste. |
We took off from newark airport - from what i understand ( as per the flight attendants discussion when we landed ) had we been looking out the window and looking towards the back - we would of have seen the first plane hit - We were on our way to Las Vegas. My pregnant wife ( at the time ) myself and a good friend of ours. Needless to say we got ordered out of the sky in Georgia. It was horrible. Thousands of people scrambling around looking for transportation, hotel rooms and the such. Price gouging was off the charts - We spent 300 a night for 1 hotel room - nothing fancy - 2 queen beds. Just hotels taking advantage of other people. It was rampant. That was nearly as sad as being stuck there for 4 days and having to rent a car to drive home. But far better than the alternative. By a long shot. I know 1 thing - I will never forget, and by damn sight never forgive........

I work at The TJX Companies, Inc. in Framingham, MA. We had 7 employees on American Airlines Flight 11 from Boston, MA to San Fransisco, CA. American Airlines Flight 11 was the plane that hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center.
My wife and I were on our 4th wedding anniversary, vacationing in Bar Harbor, ME at the Bar Harbor Inn. We had just left the Reading Room Restaurant after eating breakfast, and the hotel lobby television had CNN playing the smoking buildings. At that time I didn't know my company had employees in that plane. We spent the rest of the week trying to enjoy our vacation. We had rented a convertible and it was the best weather we had seen in 5 years of vacationing there during that week, but we concentrated on news radio the entire time we drove around, barely even paying attention to our surroundings. It was during our drive home that we first heard reports that some of the terrorists had possibly used Portland International Airport. We could see that airport from the highway. TJX built a memorial garden to the 7 employees and has kept it maintained meticulously. I walk by it every morning when I go into work and every evening when I leave. I won't be forgetting... |
