Sweet! Just curious..what's the top speed of your car?

SunnyHouTX 03.19.2010 10:09 PM

It has been 90.9mph in at 1.503 seconds. That's on a 1/10 scale quarter mile. Fastest ET on it was a 1.489s pass at 84.1s. Also have a dragster that's gone 98.8mph in 1.507s with a quickest ET of 1.413s. These are all on 3S. Check out my other videos and you'll see what I mean.

After doing speed runs with my Rustler, RC drag racing was hard to resist. Hooked is a huge understatement.

My funny car:

Awesome! Very very cool! Much more fun to watch than speed runs with obscure speed guns and GPS meters.

Oh yes. That's exactly why I enjoy it more. I enjoy race day a whole lot. I don't get to watch my cars from the finish line but the sheer speed of these boogers by the time it gets there is amazing. If ever there's a breakthrough in traction compounds, there will be some ridiculous ETs and trap speeds, and it's already starting to happen. The extreme class is just that and is an open class and guys run 6S in them. Chris Smith from SoCal MHRA just registered the lowest ET of 1.1717s at 109mph with his Extreme dragster! That number is so mind boggling and was inconceivable barely a year ago.

That 1.17 is just nuts. I told my dragracing buddy here at work about that and he was just amazed.

No problem, Actually, that guy races in bracket and runs a VERY consistent 3.3XX ET. He is the points leader so far in that class. But you're right, if it were heads-up racing, no chance.

Sorry to break it to you man, but yes, there are some very fast guys out there. But, there are classes you don't need to have the fastest set up, just be consistent and you have the race in the bag. Examples are bracket and all the index classes which have a fixed ET that you can't beat. The closest to the index wins. We have a "pro street" class just for 4wd touring cars only if enough guys come to fill it and they are a little slower than the 2wd drag specific set-ups.

 I meant other places besides RC ;)

SunnyHouTX 03.24.2010 11:16 AM

Touche. No we get the racing done with faster to spend more time in these "other places" you refer to.
