single servo steering
i was wondering if anyone knows if a single hitec 645 is enough power to turn wheels, or should i go bigger?
|
I had one in my Revo. It works fine, however after experience higher quality servos like the 7955TG or JR9100T, the 645 is a huge step downward.
If you can spring for something a bit better in quality, I would suggest. the Futaba 9351 is also very nice. |
645 as a single - I would say maybe but not very well...
|
You'd be happier with any of the fore mentioned servos or anyhting with at least 200+oz of torque.
|
Also keep in mind, the increase torque of the servo allows the servo to perform at advertised speeds.

I run the JR 9100T in my truggy and it's perfect

love my 7955tg hit up ebay there only 100 bucks or so

Thanks to all was just wondering since i had a 645 laying around from when i put a bigger one on my crawler. i had a Doubt since im running big e-maxx brushless tires.

Yeah, this question is about as difficult to answer as "how much current will my BL motor pull?". Loading plays a big role. And by "loading", I mean: weight of the vehicle, the bellcrank arm lengths, tire friction (which is less when the tires are moving). etc. And that's assuming the EPA is set right.
I did a test a while back where I hooked up a Hitec HS-5945MG steering servo (180oz-in torque and 0.13 sec speed at 6v) in my Hyper 8 buggy, and measured the current at 6v under typical (moving vehicle) conditions. I saw peaks of 2.4A with an average of 0.6A. |
anyone ever try these?http://www.crawfordperformanceengine...ervo-p-18.html

Heres the same thing but you get 2 servos for under 30.00 delivered.
