How to have more ON POWER STEERING?

I am racing a x1 CRT truck. I always hv to slow down lot to steer. If I power in corner, it with oversteer.

The steering EPA is max, I am using aka city block n ibeam. I m using 7k front center 10k(slip diff) rear 2k.

Can I use 5k infront n get more on power steering?

Any advise? Thx!

I'm not a avid racer but I think thats the nature of the beast ??

I'm sure some more tuning will provide better steering but off power will always be better.

You could try a lighter fluid in the center diff. Maybe 7-8k? That would send less power to the rear wheels and be less likely to spin out in corners. Only downside is that you lose some straight line acceleration.

I think you mean understeer (front "pushes"). Make sure that mechanical travel is going to max as well as epa max. You could try to get more weight forward (if possible).

Go lighter in the front diff, say 5K.

Do a unicycle conversion...

Oversteer in real cars seems to be fixed by adding downforce to the rear, to make the front end lighter and less likely to spin out.

Understear is fixed by maybe stiffening up the rear suspension so the nose doesnt lift so much when you're on the power- more weight upfront too yeah.

Heavier fluid in the front diff tends to make the steering more snappy from what I gather, gives it more bite into corners.

So the front n center reduce oil?

superek4 03.25.2010 05:22 AM

Look at this race mine is the pink car with yellow front. Besides the sucky driving I feel the car is understeer.

thicker front oil in the front will have slower entry, but fast exit, if you lighten up the center the front wheels drive more, but you can use the rear drive to whip the car around the turn, i found 7-30-2 worked out for my crt, the truggy really is a turd tho lol, i gained a lap on my times going to the 2.0 losi

I drive a D8 buggy and I would rather have it under steer (push) than over. But if you want more steering entering a turn, soften the front suspension.
This is a good "article" on suspension tuning.

If I want more steering out of a corner?

georgec 03.25.2010 11:33 AM

If you want more steering mid turn and exit, don't change oil but go with softer springs on the front.
