Bought a Night Crawler...
Did some messing around at the rock pile...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1TNo29gdyc I'm in blue with the LNC. |
Well I've got the full weights in there, probably more than I need! I put a full pound into each front tire and about 1/3 lb into each rear. Maybe that's a bit excessive but it's damn planted now! Rovers are nice, but not very grippy in the garage. Maybe they need to be broken in.
I haven't had a problem with the stock body but the Rovers are a bigger diameter so we'll see. Here's some pics from today- weights from Cabelas http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/HPIM0029.jpg teardown and buildup. Pics speak for themselves http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/HPIM0030.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/HPIM0031.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/HPIM0032.jpg one of the rear wheels http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/HPIM0033.jpg one side done http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/HPIM0034.jpg one of the front wheels http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/HPIM0035.jpg done http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...r/HPIM0036.jpg |

Way too much weight. 6oz in each front and none in rear
|
What are the advantages and disadvantages of having too much weight in the wheels? I've heard both, what you said, and having what I got in there now.
|
Harder to climb - breakovers but more stable.
It's also hard on elecs and the lcc is hard on them already. |
Alright, I might be switching out the foams soon so when I do I'll probably take out some weight too.
