I am having man trouble

Hopefully the title gets attention, and no it's not what you automatically assumed.

This is about shaving and no not anything down below but normal facial shaving, and head because I am bald.

So I have two major issues, coarse hair on my face and a very sensitive neck. At best I can shave every other day without major skin damage, rash, and bleeding. I have tried everything under the sun and the best it ever got was the gillette M3 power. But alas, they have discontinued these and they are getting almost impossible to find. There are still some standard M3 blades around but something they do to the power ones works better.

I have tried every type/brand of electric with little success either, they all leave stubble, wet or dry.

I hate the damn fusion as the blades are so close it clogs up constantly and really isn't that smooth in my opinion.

So I just tried out the schick quatro titanium and it seems okay. I will need a few more rounds for sure but it did better on my head than the M3 ever did.

Anyway, wondering what every one else's experience is in this realm.

Has anyone ever tried the sharpener sold on TV? Worth anything?

What about any of the other TV stuff?

That sucks, I can shave dry with a worn out razor and not really have issues, although I have a friend with the same problems you experience. Best of luck.

I have similar sensitive skin. I use an electric throughout the week at night, on Saturday I take a break, then Sunday I use the quattro at night . I use nivea aftershave balm after every shave regardless if electric of razor. I find shaving at night lets my skin calm own a bit before the day, otherwise it is red and irritated.

One of my best friends used to have that type of beard and every time he shaved he came out looking like he got attacked at the neck like a horror movie. When we were younger in our twenties we gave him a Indian pseudo name "grey face" because his hair was so coarse that even after he just shaved his face was dark and ashy looking....cruel of uslooking back and him being sensitive to it only made matters worse. BTW he was hungarian/american

so later in life he got all his facial hair removed by electrolisis hair removal by a doctor. At the time about 10 years ago hhe treatment was is in trail stages so he got like a half off discount so he could be in their before and after book. He still has a few hairs come up in the same places but he only shaves like once a week now. But nowaadays they have a garantee that any new growth is covered for extra treatments as necessary so abslutly no shaving will be needed. I might ad that it is not that expensive now.

I will also mention that when the treatment was done he looked like a monster for a couple weeks as the each pore that a hair grows from pusses up and pukes the hair folicle out, making for a look like a 13yr old with the wrst acne you have ever seen. He was embarrassed to even go out in public but it does all clear up. He is a much happier guy now.

i too have coarse/thick hair and very sensitive skin. as a result, i shave twice a week.

for me, this is the best stuff. takes away all stinging/irritation after i shave. i've used it for a few years now and won't use anything else.

Same here. I shave my face at night, in the shower before I go to bed. It does get stubbly at work during the day tho.

I guess I'm lucky because I can go at least 2-3 days without needing to shave. And even if I wanted to grow a beard, it would look like I have mange. I don't even use shaving cream; I just take a shower, and once done (and hair is still warm/damp/soft), I can just shave it.

I'm pretty much the same. I only shave every other day for the most part unless I have specific meetings I need to be clean shaven for. I do use shaving cream though and actually shave in the shower using a fog free mirror.

I'm using a M3 Power with normal M3 blades and I gotta say it's the best shaver I've tried.

Never had a problem I shave around 3 times per week as per g/f requirement :P

I use a Wilkinson Sword, no idea what model.

Electric shaving ??

josh9mille 04.08.2010 01:33 PM

I wish i could shave my head with a razor, all i can do is use clippers without an attatchment. I have too many bumps on my head to use a razor.

rabosi 04.08.2010 01:34 PM

I also have similar issues. I shave my head about every 5 days and facial hair mostly every day. I have found that the best time to shave face is right after waking. For whatever reason the hair seems alt softer. Otherwise using warm water to soak shaving area works well. Warm shaving cream also helps. As for razors I use disposables (gillette from costco) and throw them out after head shaving or about 5 days. Sooner if they lose sharpness. Not very environmentally friendly but for sensitive skin maintaining sharpness is important. Don't like electrics.
