Acepow 2s1p 4000mah 30C Hardcase Review

Today I was handed over a pair of Acepow lipo batteries. These were the 4000mah 30C and 5000mah 40C, both being hardcased 2s1p with bullets. Packaging was good and the power cables were supplied.
Charged the 4000mah 30C battery at 2C. Voltage delivered was at 3.8V. Same for the 5000mah. The cells came in half full. 2000mah went back in. One cell was at 4.2V while the other at 3.92V. The 5000 pack took 2500mah and was more balanced than its 4000mah cousin. 4.2V + 3.98V.
The 4000mah 30C battery went through a 100A burnout test for its first cycle. I used my old school TRC Lynx II pan car. Slapped on some 2” wide drag tires and started the burnout. I must say that I’m more than surprised with the outcome. Data logger showed an average of 108Amps@6.72V ~ 727Watts for around 20 seconds. This equates to 27C discharge.
Burst startups on carpet(inside my house) peaked at 131.32A@6.5V ~930W.

Motor was C40 6s Hacker with Mamba Max. ESC was upgraded to 12awg wires with an additional 8 cap bank. Car TRC Lynx II with solid axle. 2" wide foam tires. Eagletree 150A datalogger.

More will follow. I still have a 5000mah 40C to mess with.

~3.4v per cell @ 27C discharge... I'd say that was pretty good for an almost unheard of brand.

Nice testing Snellemin

More info

How about a little bit more info on the batteries themselves. Where did you get them? Who sells them? How much are they? Who makes them?

What a great first test, just jump right in there with 100 amps. lol Yes, please share where you got them. Thanks for sharing the graphs.

I received the batteries from the owner of Formuladrc.com. He got them as a samples to test out and I got the opportunity to do some damage to them. Bigsquid tested the 5000mah hardcase out. But they did not do 100A burnouts for 20 seconds(overgeared speedrunners scenario). Bigsquid also didn't provide graphs. I'll post the results of the 5000mah 40C pack out, as soon as I find some time to test.

I found about Acepow on rcgroups and rcu last year. Then saw them on biqsquid and boom like majic they were in my hands.

I'm blasting the 5000mah batteries at 40 Amps, with no problems. I had to upgrade my charger cables to 10awg and add a 40A fuse for safety. After the charging is done, the dean plugs, power cables and fuse are pretty warm. Fuse being the hottest. The battery on the other hand is at ambient temp.

My 8 yr old is using the batteries in his hyper 7 in 4s1p config.
