Battery Pack's REAL Dimensions

Hello all
I have a strange question:
I have bought a 4s 40C 5000Mah flightmax battery pack for my converted RC8t. The dimensions of the battery tray of the car (original associated e-conversion) seem to be smaller than the "declared" dimensions in the manufacturers site (I don know if I can post the link here, but the declared dimensions are 147x31x56). The battery tray in the e-conversions is shorter (only 140 mm), but the pack still fits (!)
Now, here is the question:
I thought of buying the Turnigy packs (4S, 40C, 5000Mah). But these packs' declared dimensions are 149X49X37. Does anyone know if these packs actually fit the e-conversion's tray ?

another thing : Does anyone have actual experience with both packs ? any conclusion ?
Thanks
Billyboy

Sorry, I have the 30C so no measurements. I can hazzard a guess at why you are seeing what you are seeing though if you like.

I have a few of the turnegy 30C packs and while the cells are all the same size the pack are not all exactly the same length some are longer or shorter depending on how neatly the tabs fold up under the circuit board on the end of the pack and how the ballance wires lay, Obviously given the price of the packs they arent paying feng suei masters to spend hours getting things as neat as possible, thankfully it sounds like they are quoting the maximum length the pack can be so if you have that much room all the packs are sure to fit.

If that is true it is nice to see as I have come across a well respected company that quote the size and weight for the individual cells in the pack as the pack, so with the circuit board, wires, heat shrink the pack you order is overweight and won't fit if space is tight.

Remember this is not gospel, I wasn't going to reply as I dont have all the facts, it is just me having a guess to eleviate some of your frustration at a lack of responce.
