How to get a brand new Neu cheap!!!
Well not SO cheap but still cheaper than I've not did that!!
I was able to find a toast Neu 1515 for $65 buck. (tanks to brushlessboy16) After calling Neu to know the repair cost, they tell me that I could have a brand mew one for half the price. I only need to make a flat spot on the shaft^_^ My Medusa still run perfectly but now I have a good spare motor. http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...0_suite008.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...0_suite010.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...0_suite014.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...0_suite013.jpg http://i265.photobucket.com/albums/i...suite017-1.jpg |
but what was half price? seems like half price plus $65 is still pretty pricy.
|
$250 cut in half : $125 +$65
$190 to my door for a brand new nue sound fair for me. |
y not just get a castle/neu motor? it is basically the same thing, only sealed and cheaper.
|
Seriously, the castle neu goes for 120 shipped on fleabay nowadays.
|
The Castle Neu's don't seem to be built with the same quality core material and/or the same quality magnets, they run hotter, hence less efficient... mind you only about 10F, but still.
Did you guys know the color green is the most toxic to make? Ironic huh. |
From what I understand, the Castle Neu's run hotter because of the sealed front end.
|
I doubt that because it would not get airflow from that, and most people cover those holes, and when mounted very very little air would be forced through... especially not enough to make a significant 10F difference, if peoples reports are to be believed.
