MaxAmps puts its money where its mouth is.

I think he's just scared of what would happen

Took this from RCTech.net

I still won't pay there ridiculously high prices for sub par packs. For my perspective on maxamps guarantee watch the movie Tommy Boy.

MikeW 05.03.2010 09:42 AM

Of course, nobody should buy from MaxAmps.... and Tommy Boy was an awesome movie, shame that Farley had such a short life...

If you read the fine print it is only a partial replacement credit, like after 1 year you have to still pay 33% for a replacement, after 2 years 66%, etc. So it's not as free as they'd like you to think.

Again ?!?! How can offering to support their packs with a free warranty be a bad thing...

Last time I checked no one held a gun to anyones head to buy a Maxamps pack.

I am not saying it's a bad thing, just that it does not sway me at all.

simplechamp 05.03.2010 10:12 AM

Nor did I say it was bad, just commented on the actual terms of the warranty.

when you have to keep sending it back because it fails. at least, way back when i bought 2 maxamps packs and the both failed (at different times, of course), that was my pain. i had to send the packs back first ($ to ship it), wait for them to inspect it, then wait for the replacement pack. cost me time and money.

you asked.

MEH, If they gave away free packs I'd sell them to buy Zippys.

Given my experience with MA packs if you used them near their rated specs they would let go, 1st time usually. So having the free replacement inaside of the 1st year would cover most issues that I saw.

However you can get a comparable pack for much less so no real need to go with maxamps unless you cannot find the desired size anywhere else.

Hobby City started nailing maxamps coffin a while back....

Filled it with cement and nailed it shut.
For them tight @sses to break down at all, let alone reconfigure their warrenty like that speaks volumes I beleive ?
I'm happy to see it. :yipi::party::yes::whistle::rofl::na:

Has anyone here done any kind of Eagletree graph of their newer cells recently? Yeah, they're overpriced, but for noobs, MA does make selecting the proper size easy. The extremely high price would be easier to swallow if they actually met (or came even close to) the advertised specs.

Bearing in mind there surge rating is almost equivalent to a burst rating...
