Easy cooling mod for MMPro (amongst others)
 

I tried to use the MMPro on a tekno 8ight with 1600kv medusa 36-60, on 6s 3000mah. The esc ran hotter than I like even with the smallest clutchbell (13t), giving 38mph through the speed-calc. I wanted to keep the clutch as I find it to be very beneficial. So I used my MMM instead, easy mod, kidding:lol:

Now I just converted a mugen MBX-6 roller I bought. Using the same motor and battery, I tried to use the MMPro again. Now since the MBX-6 uses regular pinions I could gear down alot, but I learned that gearing for 38mph is perfect for the motor from using it in the 8ight.

The fan on the Mamba esc's only comes on after the esc gets too hot, which is rather late IMO. So I unplugged it from the esc and lengthened the wire so I could power the fan from the reciever. Now the esc never went over 70f!!!

Hope this helps, I am planning on adding a novak cap too to be sure. I don't think its needed now, but I already bought it. Now I can finally use my small sexy MMPro in my new buggy without ruining it.

I'm doing this in my MMM powered XXL with a Neu 1521 geared to the moon with the xxl tires, and geared to 38 with LPR's for racing all on 5s. ESC never got over 100...

The motor is the only thing that gets hot, it ran 140 the other day but I was on grass and keeping up with a peppy baja 5b ss.

For a second there I thought you were using an MMPro to power a 1521 in an XXL. Yeah, that made no sense.
