Arming problems with Schulze 18.97KW
Hi,
A few months ago I bought a Schulze 18.97KW of eBay. Yesterday I soldered a Deans connector to it and some bullet connectors. Today I tried to arm it to the Transmitter, but with no success... I tried about every setting on the ESC, I changed the motor, changed the receiver, checked the wires. But whatever I did, the motor won't do anything. I tried the motor on another ESC (with the same receiver), and the motor worked on that one, so the Schulze ESC has to be the problem. The manual of Schulze sucks imo, I might done some things wrong there, but I don't think so. Quote from the manual: Quote:
At 2. it says 'Switch on receiver', I haven't got an on/off switch on the receiver, it's always on. At 3. it says 'Connect battery (ESC confirms this with Power-on beep', I get the Power-on beep if I connect the battery After that it says 'then learns the Stop position and confirms this with a beep; it is then armed', I don't get a beep here, it does nothing. Anyone knows why I don't get a beep here? What am I doing wrong? I really don't know what I should do... My electronics used are: Schulze 18.97KW with UBEC Hacker C40 brushless motor Turnigy 5000mAh 3S 20C battery Futaba 3PKS with 2.4GHz fasst system I appreciate your help. - Patrick |
If I remember correctly, my Schulze was kind of plug and play. I did need a RX pack as the ESC is OPTO.
|
Hmm... The strange thing is that my ESC doesn't do anything, if I connect it to the battery and apply throttle nothing happens. The only thing the ESC does is the Power-on beep...
Yup, I'm using a UBEC. |
I jave the same esc in my truck. what remote are you using?
|
Seems like for a car/truck/boat you just:
1- Turn on the Tx. 2- Turn on the controller. 3- Wait until it stops beeping. (It should give a "power-on" beep and then a "neutral learned" beep) Set all of the trims on the Tx to "0". |

@Whats_nitro: I did a reset on the TX, so all trims are at 0. The only thing my ESC does is a Power-on beep, after that it does nothing (no beep and I can't give any throttle) I bought the ESC of eBay, and I never used it before, so it might be dead? :whip: (The seller described it as a good working ESC though) |
I knew it! I have the 3pk... Those remotes have to be connected directly to a schulze with a y harness and programmed that way before they will ever communicate. At least that what I had to do with mine... Once I did, no problems every since!
Look in your manual, it should tell you how to do it step by step... Good Luck! |
I had a look on the schulze homepage, and the kw is listed under the esc's without bec:
http://www.schulze-elektronik-gmbh.de/futu-d.htm So I am pretty sure, too, that you need an external bec/Ubec to run the esc. without, you have no power for the esc, the receiver and so on. edit oops, just saw that youre using a ubec... mabe a problem w. the ubec? |

:oh: That sounds ehh... strange lol. But if you got the same ESC with the same TX and you had the same problem as me, than you're probably right. I'll take a look in that damn long manual... @Florianz: UBEC works fine I think, if I connect the battery pack a LED lights up on the receiver. |
I'm done with reading the Schulze and 3PKS Manual pfoe...
@T-Bro: I think you're right! In the 3PKS manual it idd says that some ESC's got problems with the HRS signal of the Futaba TX. The manual says this: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/3629/buggykz.jpg I need a two-way cord (same as an Y cord I guess?) and a DSC cord. But according to the picture, why would I need a Y cord, as I don't connect it to anything??? |
