What (Mugen) is this ??

I bought something cheap off of eBay; an incomplete roller. He said it was a Mugen and I'm guessing it's an ancient one. Do you guys have any idea what this is?

It's completely apart since it used to be a nitro and I cleaned it.

Pics

Thanks guys!

ps. Will not post the pictures here since the forum doesn't handle large images as good and with low res you can't see what's on it.

simplechamp 05.11.2010 03:23 PM

Hot Bodies Lightning. I'm just going from the purple shock tower.

wallot 05.11.2010 05:23 PM

yes it is hot bodies lightning - purple towers and the standard hot bodies diff cases they still use for example on D8

Thanks guys, going to find myself a manual to check and verify.

It looks like a GS Racing Storm to me...I have had three of them, and the front upper-arms and many other parts are identical to what I had.

Chadworkz 05.11.2010 05:33 PM

Yea, it's a GS Racing Storm...it just has a couple parts from other vehicles, but it is a Storm.

Unfortunately it looks like Chadworkz was right, atleast the arms look identical:

So is it crap ?

EDIT: yep, it looks like two drops of water.

I have had three GS Storms (Kit, RTR, Pro), and they are awesome! They are bomb-proof, have a huge aftermarket, can be upgraded to pro specs with full carbon-fiber, titanium, and 7075 aluminum. They are great in nitro mode, but make even better brushless buggies. Mike makes a motor-mount and battery-tray, and you can get all other parts dirt-cheap.

trust me, Storms are excellent buggies!

Nard Cox 05.11.2010 05:39 PM

Now that's excellent news Chad!!! Thanks a bunch :) !

Chadworkz 05.11.2010 05:41 PM

Anytime, man...I love GS Storms! I actually have a few parts laying around, so I will try to find them and send them your way, free of charge.

That's extreme, thanks a bunch. Going to put it together in the next few days, will post some pics when I'm done.

magman 05.11.2010 07:24 PM

the mbx-4 had purple towers as well for what it's worth

Chadworkz 05.12.2010 02:17 AM

That tower is just an extra part that came in the lot...it's a GS Racing Storm. :)
