Axial XR10
After all the secretive teaser ads here it is (click on "imagery" for better pics):
http://www.axialracing.com/ftp/xr10/new/main.html What do you crawler guys think? I have been looking at trying a crawler and if this gets good reviews I might try it out. Not looking to do comps, just playing around. |
I like it, the body and design anyway, but I don't like MOA axles...I prefer shafty crawlers, in 1.9, 2.2, and Super classes. I know torque-twist can be a problem, but there are many ways to reduce and even alleviate it completely. Plus, I like the simplicity of a single motor setup. I just wish Berg would come out with both Non-MOA axles and a full shafty crawler kit, those would be awesome!

With a few simple upgrades i.e. a couple of aluminum parts from Axial - this looks like it will be a berg beating / equivalent rig...
Its going to be fun... |

I'm not a huge fan of the MOA myself, but it looks like it has the possibility of being a contender. I know for a fact that lid is going on my LCC! Time to start searching ebay.

Don't know much about crawlers, but I do know that looks sweet!

I love the looks of this crawler, and i think it may be my first one

I've been considering this now to get back into crawling since I quit comping 2 years ago or so. I'm pretty well sold on the MOA idea, though I used to be a diehard shafty. I'm thinking of grabbing one of these, 2 Holmes hobby revolvers, an 8711HV servo and still split on the ESC(s). I was considering a LCC, but this looks way promising. They've been talking a lot about cutting brakes on RCC, but it looks like I'd need 4 channels for that and I'm not sure I want to load up my DX7 for this, but who knows. Either way, I'm having a hard time not pulling the trigger.

I wonder what that body would look like on my Super when it's finished (If they decide to make a larger version of it)? The truck is going to be huge, bigger than any of the 1/6 crawlers on the market, and even bigger than some/most of the 1/5 stuff!
|
Lol, Chadworkz, "I build big s***."
|
Haha! Actually, you're right...in the last few months, I have been designing and collecting parts for a few large-scale builds, including that 1/4ish scale child's pedal-car I am going to turn into an RC car (46cc STIHL Chainsaw Gasoline 2-Stroke Engine).
1/4ish scale gasoline-powered on-road car 1/5ish scale Super-Class rock-crawler (brushless) 1/6 scale Dodge Magnum (Maxx-Based suspension, brushless, full lights) 1/6 scale Chevy Silverado (MT/Crawler, 4-link suspension, brushless, full lights) 1/7 Ofna DM-One Pro converted to high-voltage, high-power brushless (I want it crazy-fast!) |
I still enjoy having one motor and esc. That body however is insane.
|
Yea, I am a shafty person, myself...all of my current crawlers are shafties, and all of my future crawlers will be shafties! :)
|
My previous comp chassis was a shafty and I loved it and did quite well with it. Now that I'm getting back into it, I want to try out a MOA. I got mine preordered today. Just waiting for it to show up now. I'll probably start with some Revolver Black motors and move to Tekin 17.5s at some point. All my other vehicles use Tekin equipment.
