Slash 4x4 PE finally finished! Race ready, hop-ups galore, pics!

So i had intended to do a build thread and post pics throughout my build but i got lazy. So here are some pics of the nearly finished truck. The only thing i am waiting on now is my Tekno M6 CVDs for front/rear.

I raced it for the first time this week and it performs amazing. I drove my friends stock Slash PE and i could not believe the difference in performance. My friend was very jealous of my setup and is now making some adjustments to his.

I have some adjustments to make still using Steve Slaydens race setup as a guide.

Here are the goodies on my PE4x4. I went all out on this one. Enjoy:

-Neu 1512 1y 2700kv
-MMP esc
-JR9100s servo
-Spektrum s3100 rx
-Thunder Power 3s G4 45c 3800mah
-Proline undertray
-Outerwears shroud
-Proline 17mm adaptors
-Proline 1/8 buggy split six wheels for short course trucks (wanted the AKAs but not out yet).
-AKA Enduros soft compound (these are a great tire, btw)
-STRC shock towers fr/r
-STRC steering bellcrank
-Traxxas alum motor mount
-Traxxas alum motor plate
-Traxxas clear plastic motor cover
-Robinson extra hard 15t pinion
-Hot Racing 53t steel spur gear for center diff
-Proline PowerStroke shocks fr/r
-RPM fr/r bumpers, fr/r a-arms, nerf bars, mud flaps, spring retainers for shocks, front head light kit w/ ramtech LEDs
-Lunsford titanium turnbuckle/hinge pin kit
-Titanium and stainless screws throughout
-Proline Chevy 1500 body

Looks sweet. Probably the best build list on a Slash.

Agreed, Def the nicest race set up I've seen.

thanks guys. it really does a great job of getting around the track. it handles great too. i have some tweaks to make to really dial it in but overall i was happy. after racing my temps were motor=120* and esc=116*.

my track doesnt allow the buggy wheels so i am switching back to short course wheels. plan to run jconcepts rulux with AKA enduros.

also, proline just came out with spring sets for their powerstroke shocks so now i can try different spring rates once those are available. i have still been considering going to a 1/8 buggy shock like some of you have done with the 8ight shocks but have not decided yet.

for racing i found this. check it out:

i know, those AKA 1/8 short course wheels are awesome. i like them much better than the prolines. after these pics were taken i took some silver paint and just tapped a bit on the little fake bead lock nuts on the proline wheels. it took 10 minutes to do all four and it made them look much better.

Gorgeous Truck

What AKA wheels are you guys talking about? I haven't seen any news/press releases on new styles. Got a link?

not sure what you mean? they make a shroud for the 2wd slash and 4x4 slash. whether your 4x4 slash is the PE or not doesnt matter, i think. i bought mine through TeamGoNads. they come in several different colors. that link you posted is the one i bought. although the pic might not be a 4x4 cuz it was the same when i bought mine. when i got mine it had instructions for a SC10 shroud but the package said it was a slash 4x4 shroud. does that help?
