2.4GHz Troubles

An issue came up at the LHS race,(no lap timer just 5min heats on pavement) where a spektrum 2.4ghz radio user was claiming to be getting some glitching/interference when his car(sc-10/ DX3r?) was close to mine(slash 4x4/Hk GT-2 2.4ghz).

With 2.4ghz technology is this even possible?

How are radio problems/interference handled at your track?

I feel I was targeted due to having a off-brand radio and gave him some grief about testing my radio.

Maybe because it was the way he had mentioned how his "$1000.00" r/c wasn't working right.(he didn't quite lap the field of noobs w/ Slashes three times with his Associated while complaining the whole time.)

Sounds like a crybaby trying to come up with a logical reason why a better driver with lesser equipment can win.

Same almost happened here. Folks were complaining about the ezrun 60amps in some of the short coarse trucks. Only after we explained that their mmp and such have more power and capabilities than our cheapo ezruns did they shut up. They consistently have to find an excuse for loosing.

I know I always thought 2.4ghz was a sure thing. Well I put up a fight for a few laps but I could not compete with the two pros. Yes, IMHO he was loosing to his friend and looking for a reason.

Definitely a wah wah thing from what I can see. Sounds like my friend that when losing nintendo games growing up would blame the controller so we would switch, I would win again and he would say I did something to it.

Maybe these people should spend more time practicing than complaining. It's funny how many people in life spend so much money trying to gain a competitive edge instead of practicing. Life takes work, get over it.

YEp, they always think $ is the answer....

I call BS also. The fact that he said his truck was glitching only when it was close to yours doesn't make any sense. Transmitters don't transmit a beam in a straight line to the receiver, it's waves radiating out in all directions. If your system was somehow causing an issue it wouldn't just be when the vehicles were in close proximity, it would happen any time your radio was powered on and transmitting a signal.

Were there any other Spektrum users running? It seems like they would be having issues also if your system was in fact causing interference (which again I doubt very much).

I'm not for sure on other spektrum users, I imagine there was at least one other person using one. I went over to his pit later w/ my TX to troubleshoot, but he was not interested in testing then.

What a A hole, unfortunately for me my area is full of these types. That is the reason why I race less and less. It is supposed to be fun. Sure there is the competitive part, but I still want to have fun.

It's pretty bad that you were the better person in trying to figure it out with him, and all he did was basically give you the bird.
