Mambas in Antarctica

We are always amazed at what kind of applications our controllers end up in. :surprised:

Check it out... This ROV uses 4 x Mamba-25s

Showing the Mamba-25s as installed in the ROV:

Sweet!

I bet there's little concern about heat.

Cool stuff Patrick! Cool to see many other uses for your products as well!

What the hell is in that last picture tho?

I'm not sure what it is. Something that wanders the sea floor...

Very cool, pardon the pun.

I guess it was break time, feet hanging out of tent ?

Arct1k 05.25.2010 02:24 PM

Thats great... Now show us the drones :)

Anymore light show creations?

BrianG 05.25.2010 03:16 PM

So Patrick, how did you find out about this? Did they contact you, or did you stumble across it?

nitrostarter 05.25.2010 03:35 PM

Do you know how far down this ROV went for those pictures?

Finnster 05.25.2010 04:09 PM

Soo.....how would this effect the warranty?

The project is called Submersible Capable of Under Ice Navigation and Imaging or SCINI. Here is their website: http://scini.mlml.calstate.edu/

I've seen pictures of stuff at 195m, on that page above, not sure where that critter in the picture is though.

Very cool stuff. And no, no warranty, we donated the first batch, and they paid for 3 during their initial test (read screw-ups) :)

To me it seems the next logical step is to swap the Mamba 25's for MMM's and make the thing go 100mph!

Yep, I've definitely been hanging out around RCM too much...

Bitchen!

That last pic is out of this world. Reminds me of Aliens!

simplechamp 05.25.2010 06:46 PM

I'd have to say it's some type of crab, maybe a species of spider crab.

Bondonutz 05.25.2010 07:01 PM

Sea Spider

Take a peak; http://www.sethwhite.org/animals.htm

Reminds me of the original Aliens movie
