Mini STe suggestions

Looking at getting a Mini STe some time soon. after seeing this thing in action, i just gotta have one now. Keep in mind for the time being i only plan to bash with this little thing.

I already own a slash, so its a good thing the Mini Ste can fit 1/10th scale motors, 2.2" tyres & 5000mah lipos. As i already own most of these things i dont have to buy too much for this little beast.

I only plan to stay with 2s. ESC choice will be the MMP. Now im a little undecided on which motor to use. To keep things very simple, i was just going to go with the MMP4600 combo. I here reports of the 5700 on 2s having heat issues, & IMHO 4600kv should be plenty. I run the MMP4600 in the slash & its plenty of power for me. I was looking at the neu 1509 1.5D until i seen the price :gasp:

For tyres though, i dont know how it will look, but i really like the looks of the new proline trencher SC tyres. Im already getting some for the slash, so to keep things nice & simple, was going to get a set for the Mini STe aswell. & cause im also getting the protrac kit for my slash, so i will no longer need the stock slash wheels, i will use a set of stock slash FRONTs (wider offset). Another option, & also cause i use these when bashing, would be rpm revolvers with either gladiators or dirtworks truck tyres. I dont want this thing looking silly, as in the tyres look way too oversized.

Im still quite undecided on diff oil. so any input would be great. Shock oil, for now & all i have is 40wt, so ill give that a go & see how it does. LMK your thoughts & experiences....

I had a CRT.5 for a couple years, essentially the same truck. For a motor I would look for a Medusa 36-50-3300 or 36-50-4800 with a 5mm shaft, preferabaly the 4800 if you plan to stick only to 2s lipo. The Castle motor may have plenty of power in your slash but keep in mind that this truck will weigh about twice as much and with the 4wd it puts alot more stress on the motor and esspecially on that little itty bitty shaft on the motor, 5mm is prefered over the 1/8" shaft. Neu motors may be expensive but they are worth it!

As far as tires go. Many here like he gladiators, I have never run them so IDK. I have run slash tires and they don't look bad on the truck. I did like the 1/10 buggy tires best on the truck, it's what the truck was designed to run. They look the best and the truck handled the best with them on it.

I have a Neu 1509 1.5D 4500kv in my STe with a MM on 2 and 3S (only for short speedruns). The ESC tends to get hot, but the motor stays nice and cool. It's a real monster motor ;)

That clip is kinda what drew me to the Mini STe. I will look into the 1.5D, however i would like to try & keep this Truggy on somewhat of a budget. In this instant & after much research, as E-revonut suggested I will stick with 1/10th buggy tyres. They are relatively cheap which is great. As much as Id love to run the Neu motor, ill probably stick with the MMP4600 combo for now for a much cheaper setup. I dont plan to run 3S anytime soon....

I think you should use the JConcepts Tense 2.2 Truck wheels with JConcepts 2.2 Goose Bumps Truck tires...

I think one of Novak 550 motors (HV or Ballistic) or one of the new Tekin 550 would be great for the Mini STe. Those are what I'm considering to put into my CRT .5 with a MMP on 3S. But you could get a higher kv to run on 2S also. And they should only cost around $125.
