Corrosion in battery wires

I was replacing the deans on my Polyquest 2S packs last night, and noticed a fairly significant amount of corrosion in the wires (greenish ting white powder). These are the only packs I noticed it in, and they are the ones I have rarely run in the 1.5 years I have had them. They came from Hobbyking (only packs I have purchased from them).
#1) Should i be at all concerned?
#2) I have never seen this in a battery pack before - common, uncommon?
#3) Probable cause? Faulty soldering on my end? Salty air/water from sitting on a ship from Asia? Are the HK packs factory rejects like the so called Turnigy LIFe packs?

I'm guessing its due to my soldering. I think I did these before I got my Hako, and with the big wires, I doubt if I got a good amount of solder on the end. Another thing I like about these EC connectors - no bad solder joints! (or at least its signifcantly reduced possibility).
