Losi SCTen-T (SCTT) Carbon Electric Short-Course Conversion.
ok, so this one really is going to have a carbon chassis. i have already started biulding it. also going to have carbon shock towers.
anyway, i picked up a Losi Ten T with the RCM conversion already on it but pretty much starting over since i am making it into a SCT. i will post some pics very soon. |
I'm a big fan of your builds. I'm looking forward to this one.

thanks dude. i am almost done with the CAD drawing for the extended chassis. but look what was just posted on the RCtech forums:
"Watching via live r/c the hot rod hobbies shootout this weekend. Mike Truhe has TQ after 2 qual rds with a prototype Losi 4wd SC!! most likely based off the ten-t platform." i was hoping to make a few carbon chassis conversion kits for the ten t but if losi already has a SCT coming out....oh well. |

Maybe more RCM members will want one? |
I still would like one. Maybe you could leave the center diff holes for me to cut and I can go with the Ten-T center diff.
Great news about Losi though. It will make this all better! |

it is taking me a while to design these this time cuz i am teaching myself CAD as i go. before i would make a chassis by hand with my dremel tool and then pay a guy to measure and draw it in solidworks. also, the carbon i have now is formed with the kickup angle so it will be much stronger than previous chassis' that i had heated and bent. i am very excited to get these done. i will definitely post pics as progress is made. |
losi SCT prototype: one from Ryu James, one from Losi
sorry this build has been going so slow but learning CAD is taking me longer than i though....mostly because its hard to find the time. so thursday night i sat down and busted out a prototype in like 5 hours. i just got my conversion parts yesterday so i should be able to finish the build this week for sure. here is the chassis plate. i extended it 1.25" to give it a wheelbase of 13" which is within roar specs and about the length of most SCTs. also, chassis plate is 6.75" wide. i will use tekno mudguards and this is the average width of most SCT chassis' out there. even with the chassis being 3" wider than stock and 1.25" longer it still weighs 12 grams less. and this is before i have drilled any of the mounting holes, etc. it will probabaly end up being about 30 grams less than the stock chassis. see the pics!

Where to you get the carbon fiber with the kickup in it? Also if you plan on making more than one I am interested.
|
Looks great James. Definitely your cleanest looking chassis yet. It's gonna own. Your doing Tekno Motor plates right? I just put them on my stock conversion and it is a tank now. I can adjust mesh and everything stays PUT! Keep us posted on your progress.

i am planning to make a few to be available to those who want one but i wanted to finish one completely first so that i can be upfront about what all would be involved in terms of parts/cost to complete the conversion. i will post info as soon as i know. |
Looks good so far, can't wait to see the finished conversion.
But how did you get the kickup into the chassis plate? |
