ERBE nOob questions
 

Love the site and think i have read every story related to revos on this site. I see many of you have some very nice setup. You all seem to have a lot of experience with brushless and lipos.

So on to my questions,
1. i would like to get the venom procharger, whats everyones thoughts?

2. Whats a good beginner lipo battery? TowerHobbies suggests this battery "Venom LiPo 3S 11.1V 4000mAh 20c". any thoughts?

3. As for making it better i would like to get the motor brace when they get them made or i might try to make my own. other than that i will ask question as i brake it.

All suggestions thoughts and advice is greatly appreciated!

1. I use a Hyperion charger so I cant help you there

2. I would suggest some higher end 2s packs, if you are new, they will let you enjoy running your truck. 6s is a total blast, but very hard on the rear diff. if you run on pavement. You will spend more time running your truck with 4s, with 6s you will spend alot of time fixing it lol :)

3. Ive never had problems with the motor, I do use Golden Horizon shock mounts, so I have a fair bit of room out back, so no engine slapping going on here :)

1. Hyperion Chargers are the way to go. That Venom is just a high priced cheaply made chinese charger.

2. Venom's are known for being cheap and explosive. I'd steer clear!

Mike carries a bunch of different lipo's and Hyperion chargers as well. Give his store a look.

Hyperion is your best bet for a charger. Buy a good charger and cheaper lipos, as you will upgrade your charger, everyone does.

I would go with either hyperion g3 lipos, or something from hobby city. The hobby city packs are cheap, and well tested. Sometimes you get a bad pack but the price is right, if you want 2 packs, buy 3...

Taking a look around the RCM store is a good idea, Mike only sells what works.

All venom stuff is overpriced. I have had their lipos and the are the equal of maxamps...

That would be 600 ish plus which ever truck i decide on. I really want a monster now decided between the savage and revo.

How are the stock electronics on the savage vs the revo?

Besides radio,they both use a licensed mamba monster max esc and a neu/castle 2200kv motor. They are both identical besides the fins on the flux can and both have very reliable electronics. Now durability is another matter. If you race and love good handling, get a revo. If you want bashability, get the flux. If you want both, get an LST2 --Josh

I have a Venom Pro, It's a great affordable charger and does all you'll need and more but it's nothing in comparison to any Hyperion charger.

I'd stay away from Venom Lipos, I have friends whom have had great luck and some with Shiz luck. If you can afford them, Hyperion packs here at RCM Store are a great deal on a awesome pack. If not, Zippys are better than Venoms.

Regardless who's you buy, If you can afford higher C-rated packs than 20C get them.

well i said screw it and bought the e revo tonight! got to run it for about 15 mins just got in, but time for bed.

Actually if you look at the Big Squid Lipo shootout, the Venom Lipos aren't too bad, I run a pair of 4000mah 20C 2s in my E-Revo (Brushed with a 775) and they run really well, but I'm not really demanding a whole lot.
