Stock Traxxas link radio range
 

Hey, I ran my Slash 4X's for the first time this weekend, and the one that is set up with the stock link radio had some serious range issues. I'd say that anything over 50 yards it would loose reception and shut down. Is this "normal" for these radios? With only 4 AA's in them, I'd think that range might be an issue with them.

Mine will go farther then I can see, in front of my home I can get 3 to 4 city blocks away with no prob.

The RX wire needs to be upright to it's fullest extent or range will be compromised.

Had a buddy's who's was acting up, we reconfigured the RX wire so it was entirely stretched bolt upright and now it's good as new.

Must be more finicky than "real" 2.4 systems. I have it going up in a short tube - but must not be long enough.
