MMM fans keep dying

Hey guys,

So I've run through 3 MMM fans now, all in quick succession. They just stop working - don't even spin at startup. And as a result, the MMM quickly overheats and I have to stop running.

I'm tired of replacing the fan, is there something else that can be done? Is there another fan that I can buy thats the same size, will fit in the MMM case, but that I can plug into the AUX port of my receiver and just have it constantly running?

Cheers for any help

The fan electronic is broken or the fan is just blocked ??? The fan can be easly blocked by some dirt or wastes which entered in the case. You just have to unblock it. I put some tape on the top of my MM to avoid that, although the cooling is a little less efficient. Did you mount your MM on dampening material ?
I never broke on fan on my MMs, and I ran them more than 400 batteries.

It's weird, I've been running my MMM in several vehicles. It's been fine in my E-revo and my Hyper 8, where it sat quite high in both cars. It's now in my Vorza and is much lower to the ground. It sits on a pad so its nicely snug. The fans just stop working, they don't seem to be blocked or anything. I take them out and hook them up to a battery and they don't spin.

i was with ReV:-O on tuesday when one of his fans failed... it seemed totally random... no debris, no obvious broken conections... and he wasn't even bashing it hard ;) just some wimpy jumps... and a few crash's

upgrading to a different fan should help...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Evercool-30mm-...item5639d962c4

try that one...

if you do go for it, just plug it into your reciever... i would guess the power regulator to the fan has gons (is it on a different branch to the bec?) because the fans arent mechanically damaged in any way... just seem to be fried...

oh and if you get one... order me one too ;) i'll get it off you next bash

that fan looks good joe, do you know if it will fit in the MMM case? £7 shipping is too pricey, I'll look around for somewhere cheaper. Do you know that that fans better than the MMM one, like does it spin faster? says on ebay it spins '7000'

Also how much voltage does the AUX port put out? Is it 5V?

aux puts out 5-6v... its better then the stock one... and it fits :P i measured mine just in case ;)
