rx8 - strange behavior

Can anyone explain what really happened?

I got t8 motor from service and needed to test it along with my new CC1518. So I connected my good old RX8 to the T8 motor and everything worked, I disconnected battery, disconnected the motor and connected CC1518 and of course the battery and nothing. Not a single beep, no LED. HMM I tried my backup RX8 and no problems. So i tried to connect the original RX8 to hotwire and nothing. Hmm dead. How could this happen. I did not short any wires as I use EC5 connectors everywhere. Was already looking for a new ESC when I decided to try the RX8 again (4 hours later). And it worked. Connected it to the CC1518 and everything is ok. what is going on? Ghosts?

Might be a bit of a long shot but I have seen people that have had similar problems and it turned out that there was components that have broken loose off the board. Apparently it's a reason why Tekin has made the new cases to combat the issue of components coming loose off the board during impacts.

That isn't my pic but it might show what i am talking about. The guy with that ESC had same problems as you are describing.

I guess I will have to open it a check if everything is OK. I wanted to do it yesterday but was too lazy looking for small phillips screwdriver :)

I'd like you to disconnect the sensor plug from the Rx8 first. I don't reccomend opening up the unit.
