Anyone have any experience with this brushless motor from Kershaw Designs?

The cat on the motor looks like a cougar to me, like a very specific cougar to be precise...
Non the less the can makes a good impression.
Would be interesting to know if the innards can keep up with the looks.

A very big problem for these motors, in my opinion - a leopard has spots, as can be seen in this hi-res picture:

maybe the spots are simply a shade different color than the body?

i've been eyeing these for a while now. they come cheap from overseas and most likely worth a try.

Nice pics (better than mine). And I like Cheetah better than Leopard as a name for a motor - I mean, the Cheetah's the fastest, right?

Where are they buying them? Can they be got for cheaper than KD? I'm not knocking KD's prices, but is there a place to buy direct? Thanks.

Of course there is. We just have to find it. LOL

The bif 1/5 scale leopard looks very interesting. Seems like a much cheaper alternative to a 2215, slightly longer and probably has a very similar diameter rotor given the case dimensions and lack of fins. Could not find a spec on a smooth can new 22 series motor, but the leopard 5692 is longer than a 2215 and shorter than a 2230. If it can push 2500 watts cont it would be a good motor for a baja conversion...Wonder if a MMM could handle it? Maybe go with the lowest kv model, mech brakes, and the new castle omgwtfbbq esc on 12s...

Or 10s and have the esc brakes for rear and some hub mounted mech brakes for the front. With a mixing capable radio you could tune the bias easily, and have presets for different surfaces. Very Nice, I like!!!
